I met Sam in Pune in 2001. As he was already old, I wondered whether he's still be around (in 2024), and just read he passed in 2018... Oh boy... I interviewed him for my book as well. I recall once I was feeling lost as I had just split with my girlfriend in Italy and had nowhere to go. Sam was walking by, and asked me how I was doing. I said "I'm lost, thinking about where I'm going, literally." He smiled and said, " Being lost is good! You'll find out where you are going pretty soon." He was right...

Dear Terry:) I need an information. First of All I live in Turkey. So! Your videos are Golden. At least we can discover this Taoist oppurtunities. Let's me question about this form! İt seems having more Fa Jin and momentum with graceful flowing in this Dear Shifu (Shimin: I learned from comments :):) ) But mostly other Wudang videos having more soft and without these powerful martial technics. My qıestions are: What is specific name for this series Tai Chi and other one is the Would you like to share full or longer for instead 9 :) My best regards :::)

Hello kind person from Turkey (I don't see your name so I thought I would open with that 😀) Thank you for complimenting my videos. Yes lots of Fa Jin in this one but not all, depends on the form itself. As for the name, great question, I've always referred to them as Wudangshan Qigong or Taiji (Tai Chi) forms. One set of forms which I learned over the years of visiting with my teachers there are called the animal forms, Tortoise, Crane, Tiger, Snake and Dragon. Then there are other form such as these. Another one you can view you can find here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3y8h5R5erCboMUfeature=shared Thanks for reaching out.

Hi Ecran, Sorry for the delayed response. I'm sure there is but not on platforms outside of what's used in China. As I'm sure you know, China doesn't allow access to Google KZbin etc. So if you have access to their domestic platforms such as iQiyi, Youku, Tencent Bilibili and search for teachers name, there will probably be much more content. What I've sheared is all that I've been given permission to share by Shifu/Shimen. Or you can come on our next retreat to Wudangshan and see her in person. 😊

King Asoka help regenerated The Buddha Religion to what it is now! Vietnam is not a country that believes in Buddhism, most Vietnamese that is! Because communist government does not allow their people to believe anything else beside the communist government! The south part of Vietnam are made of Cambodian called Khmer Krom. The ancient Cambodian king was manipulated by one of his wife which is a Vietnamese woman to have control of the Khmer Krom land and what was known as South Vietnam. Just a little fact to let all readers knows that most Vietnamese does not believe in Buddhism. Most of the monks if their not politically motivated are all from Khmer Krom and Khmer Krom stilled traditionally believes in Buddhism. We Cambodian do wish Vietnam as a country to adopt Buddhism so they can help spread peace to throughout Southeast Asia. But like most communist country Vietnam does not have the mind and heart to be trustworthy as a Buddhist Nation. What you see from Vietnam is just a masquerade just like China hiding their true agenda with this COVID-19 pandemic! Vietnam also masquerade their real global agenda!!! In Southeast Asia only Burma, Cambodia, Thai & Laos are the only Buddhist countries that exist in that region. I appreciate your video but it’s a ashamed you didn’t have all your facts checked!

Isn't this stick form totally stolen from temple kung fu? How did that happen?
@TerryHodgkinson3 жыл бұрын
Yes it was derived from Temple Kung Fu that was derived from Grandmaster Ed Parker’s Kenpo, and it’s been evolved in the spirit of Parker himself. 🙏

Exact stick format from temple kung fu Studios. You shouldn't teach forms stolen from other schools.
@OntarioPete2 жыл бұрын
How is knowledge stolen? Isn't the reason for knowledge to be taught so all can learn? All martial arts have their roots in one source or another, so in truth all forms that have evolved are simply an extension of those sources, are they not? I am not being adversarial, just asking.
@TerryHodgkinson2 жыл бұрын
@@shaunpeters As my teacher was a student and teacher at Temple Kung Fu in Edmonton, this form wasn't stolen at all, it's what was taught to him and he passed it on to me. Nothing is stolen, it's just passed on.. All the best.

I was searching for some items and stumbled on some uniforms...Yellowed from all the sweat...LOL I started at EnergyLake when I was 10 yrs old. My mom and Dad met with Terry and Mr Richerdson. I was delivering newspapers to pay for classes that my Italian Parents approved...LOL. I remember going for my Orange belt and my hands 2 days before my test were very badly burnt as I was working at a restaurant and were burnt....long story... I remember going thru the test and felt no pain for the 3 4 hr test but my hand was on fire after the test waiting for the results. Just awesome how your brain and body can ignore pain for so long.... BUT once the test was over, boy oh boy I was dieing of the pain in my hand.... I will never forget this, LOL I REMEMBER the water puss bubbles on my hands popping... Same thing happened when I went for my Blue belt, my foot, the skin on 1 foot, just peeled off... After the test my foot was on fire, I couldn't even walk I needed help... BUT during this long long test I can remember like it was today, I did not Feel the pain or ignored it.... It's crazy how powerful the brain is or your Wil! I attended classes for more than 10+years and the training was part of my life. Very good memories in deed, very good. I train KravMaga for many years now and have my son training as well in MuayTai & KRAV. Was saddened to see it close and everyone moved on. I always pretty much kept to myself, I was a shy guy back then into my mid 20s but very happy and I'm very grateful for being a part of EnergyLake and having .etc Terry and Mr Richardson. Oh ya, just last week I was in Windsor Leamington working and came across a huge 5inch praying mantis and it reminded me at the school ETOBICOKE I remember the instructors had one as a pet, I can't believe I remember that. Take Care and All the Best JOEY
