My first ever cruise was on the thomson spirit i loved this ship had so many lovely holidays on her met lovely people when i heard she was being scrapped i cried i still miss this ship. Now the ship i love wont be in Southampton again celebrity silhouette again im sad again miss you both 😢

I had stop using the HSS Stena Explorer in 2009, when they cut the sailings down to 1 a day. I had started to use the Stena Adventure, on the morning sailing.

I remember almoast all of the ferrys in the Channel. Townsend and Thoreson, from Zeebrugge and Calais, Regie voor Maritiem Transport (RTM) in Ostend, Olau from Vlissingen to Sheerness, Sally from Dunkirke to Ramsgate, Seafrance from Calais and later also from dunkirk to Dover including the train ferry's. Yes i have bin parked up next to a train wagon. Nord Pas De Calais was the last ferry with railtracks on the bottom deck, Those vessels alway sailed to Dover Westerndocks, the only dock connected to the railroad , Sealink from Calais to Dover ,Dartline from Vlissingen and Zeebrugge to Dartford, ,Northsea Ferry's, from Holland to England, Ostend to Tilbury, Europort to Felixtowe, Hook of Holland to Immingham, Ijmuiden naar HulI can't think of more, i can garanteebthat i al of this ferry's have used.

I sailed on the Royal Daffodil II lots of times in the 60's and also Overchurch, Mountwood and Woodchurch. Great Ferries. Oh and not forgetting the Leasowe and Egremont.

She may be looking tired but, she remains Calmac's "Shifting Spanner". Whenever it hits the fan, she's the one they call on to rescue a broken situation. Also,by far, the best looking vessel on the fleet.

Guess what I will do if I were in charge of stena line rather than getting rid of it leave the hss in there dock and convert it to a cafe and play area and a cinema all in once and convert the car cargo into a car park

Let me explain to those who doesn’t understand, the rust comes out quite quick during bad weather and strong winds because salt is all over the ship. It’s nothing to do with how often u paint the ship it will still come out after few days, normally the crew are dealing with it after the winds are over, and even if u look at new ferries they are exactly the same
