So USEA designates a specific color for the numbers on fences, so beginner novice is yellow card with black number one and the novice fence would be a white card with a black number one and so on. The cool part about schooling is I can do the beginner novice fences and then go for the novice option when I feel like he is ready. If this was a show, I would have to choose a level to ride

This schooling also took place right after one of their shows, which is why things are groomed and marked. Sometimes you go schooling and the grounds keepers will let you know what is open
