Oh no!!!!! I am so SO sorry that your dove is gone. You raised him very well and gave him the best life one could ever possibly imagine. You are lucky you got to experience raising your little dove baby! I know he appreciated everything you had done for him. You ensured that he was always in good hands. I learned so much from your video!

Sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort knowing you provided that little fella with the best possible alternative to what was in store for him. He had a short but love filled life. I just found one. Momma nested in one of my plants so I would check in on her daily. This morning the nest, mom, and eggs were gone. I found one of the babies on the ground, and a little wing from the other next to the pot. I put the baby back and waited but mom never came back. Your video is giving me so much hope, I had no idea what to do or how to feed it. I gave it kitten formula since it's what I have on hand and just ordered parrot formula that will arrive in two days. I hope I get to experience the joy that you got to experience. HUGS!!!

Hi... Sorry for your loss. I feel the same way as TODAY I just lost the same type of bird which I rescued last Saturday. She has been with me for 5 days & on a rough journey to her recovery. She is wild & bringing her to the Vet on the 3rd day was a mistake. I shd have let her rested & heal & gain strength. Now I know that birds will die if they're too stressed. How on earth the Vet aren't aware of such?!! Anyways... I want to believe that they are in a better place now rather than being a bird. Fly Freely 🕊️

What happened? It flew up, and then after a pause of video, some object lying on grass. Is that really the baby pigeon lying dead?

I rescued 2 little ones. Probably 2 weeks old at this point, not sure. Haven't named them yet either, in part because I haven't decided yet if I will keep them or release them (if they even survive). I feel like once you give them names, then it's pretty much decided that they'll become part of the family. Birds are amazing! So sorry about your little guy.

I share the same story caught a bird with a glue traped and wanted to cherish him and even told the people that lived in the same house to close the door since we have two cats when I came back the bird was eaten under my bed 😭

We rarely know how much somthing mean to us, untill we lose it. Especially animals. We know we love them. But we dont ever know how mutch they really mean, untill they are gone. And i can only imagine how badly it hurt, losing your little friend that way, after caring that much for the little fella. My greatest sympathies mate.

Hi Mate, thanks for the kind words. It was like magic to me that it survived & had I have known I would have kept him as a pet, indoors, not really knowing what would happen puting him outside, there wasn't enough info online & I searched a lot, mainly what to feed him & how to look after etc...

I have a white winged dove, but since I also raised her by hand she has no predatory awareness. It is important to keep your domesticated animals away from the outside elements just as you would a toy dog or hamster. They can live a relatively long life if kept indoors and safe from predation.
@KillerCrewmate25266 ай бұрын
Idk if mine have developed predatory awareness since because we did don’t encounter a cat for a long time but he’s scared of my snake which is a good thing and always perch very high in trees and only go on ground to seek food, I’m trying to avoid interact with my snake in front of him and I don’t have other predatory pet and my chickens help giving him life lessons, but I still keep an eye on him when he’s outside.

Very sad. Named mine "Squab" cause it's gender neutral. It fell out the nest when it was about two or three weeks old due to powerful storm winds. Should have called it "Piggley" cause it won't eat unless it can jam its whole head into the mash and so we have to bath it after each feed. Hoping Squab will make at least a few years before the inevitable.
@CrescendoEvents9 ай бұрын
If you mimic an adult beak with your fingers like I did he will open his mouth & feed, I found it easy using a syringe, started on seed after about 10 days. The males have a thicker neck than females. He won't like being bathed by you!

@@CrescendoEvents Back in the UK my mum had a collared dove nesting just above an outside window. Was on the nest few months back, but don't think anything hatched unfortunately. A pair. Interesting to know how territorial they are, they look so passive.
@demiurge16089 ай бұрын
not sire if she was attacked by another dove. this doesn’t happen normally. it could be a bird of prey, rather. thx for your efforts anyhow

Why are you speculating what happened when you weren’t there. So many dickhead comments on here.
@smansab599 ай бұрын
You did a commendable job on your part. The end was not in your absolute control. In our area, illegal hunting has dangerously endangered this innocent species. There is but one pair left, which I see visiting my feeders. I love listening to their coos when they're around.
