Such I cool idea! I managed to get a shiny tepig too and did this idea, after 2-3 hours I managed to get it over to the coastal biome and caught it in a dive ball with crit capture!

It took me a bit to find my first shiny being shiny growlithe I did fail a shiny Husain basculin and I want refind it again but in the same area I found it

I caught my shiny duraladon in the coastel biome because tge outbreak was right by the wall and i was easily able to lure it to the other side of the wall and it was female with a mark that is absolutely insane

Had to change it so it could be transferred up. I didn't mention any methods in the video, but there are two methods, using the 8F glitch or PKHex

You need GF as the trainer name and a specific ID, which you can do via a glitch or PKHex. I have a video link in the description that will go over how to change the name & ID via glitch
