So here I am showing up 2 years later. It's because I'm suddenly all about wanting to adapt old vintage lenses. I JUST bought the Minolta lens you features in this video. It's coming from ...I forget where. But should be a total blast. Thanks for this video.

I would love to use Lightroom but don’t because you can’t edit locally. It forces you to synch to the cloud. I am rarely near good internet so Lightroom is pretty much useless.

Do you shoot on the memory card ? Or on the internal memory? 1. Make sure you don’t use a card bigger then 256mb. 2. Use usb 2.0 cable in order to connect your camera to your PC.

Hi!I have a xe4 and I want to adapt some minolta af lenses I have. My question is how do you meter the light, I mean, there's no comunication with the camera, do you use an external lightmeter or app? You can only use it in M mode? No A, or S mode, and of course in auto?thanks!
@DimaYYY Жыл бұрын
For streets scenes I always shoot in M mode with adapted lenses. I choose preferable aperture(I’d say 4-5.6) and iso depending on the light conditions (bright sunny day or cloudy, rainy day etc.) and after I’d try to keep my shutter at 1/125 and faster. This is the general scenario. If there’s something more complicated like e.g. flash photography indoor and outdoor I’d use something like sekonic light meter. Just get one and it will save your life. Especially if you shoot on film or in a tough lighting conditions.

Nice video! X100 series are very special cameras. I like them though if I had to pick a Fuji that would have been the X-Pro 3 for the interchangeable lenses (I am using only MF lenses). As for the lens, in my opinion the X100F has a more organic, less corrected look than the X100V. Sharpness isn’t everything in photography…

I've been shooting vintage lenses on my cameras since 2005. They were dirt cheap back then. These days there are more and more people doing it so the prices have gone up significantly. I collected a few Minolta lenses and Takumars - I shot a Konica Minolta DSLR and a Minolta XD-11 film camera back then. I still shoot these lenses from time to time but on my Sony A7II and Fujifilm X-T20 cameras now days. Love it!

Its true, (there are limitations with older cameras, just work within the limitations) however, "good/decent" low megapixel digcam output usually look like instant or 35mm film that are taken by consumer level point and shoots. Don't hate it, its a look in its own retro category. That's why digicams are starting to trend right now.

I love how you ended the video, and I sympathise with the sentiment. All these KZbin videos featuring cameras released like 3-4 years ago: "Are they still relevant?" "Are they still worth it?" [*eyeroll*] I keep shouting YES, YES THEY ARE at my computer screen, haha! (I still use the X-Pro1 and the X-E1, and another couple dozens digital cameras released 10-15-20 years ago!) I discovered your channel by pure algorithmic chance and I like it a lot. I hope you'll get many more subscribers. I'll start by subscribing myself! Cheers, //Rick
