Boy, the lyrics are already touching enough, but I further used to think that the voice at the beginning was a sad rooster whose cry announced the beginning of a rather gloomy, not-so-bright day 😥 Most of us live going along with the speed of our daily activities and movements, but sometimes we need to hit the pause button in our minds and reflect on our present situation (physical and mental), our deepest wishes, and whether or not we truly are going in the direction we want. Whenever I want to check up on myself and my current state, I always play this song, since I perceive it has a slow-down effect on my thoughts.

When I was 11 I had my first love. We were perfect. Then he dumped me for this girl when I was 13, later he dumped her and got back with me. We kept going back and forth like that, breaking up, getting back together. What I didn't understand though is that he was a toxic manipulative person, and in that he made me so insecure and depressed. I lost friends and dreams because of that. Selena got me through all of that stuff.
