The name Istanbul comes from a Greek name also. Constantinople was named after King Constantine and the city was part of the Byzantine Empire. It's been re-named Istanbul for over 500 years, don't you think you should get used to it by now?

Actually, the first Agia Sofia was burnt in the uprising of Nika, against Justinian. Then Justinian rebuilt it, in 532 AD. When a church is desecrated into a mosque, we speak about desecration. Much more when this is the very seat of the Oecumenical Patriarch. We can't simply say "later a mosque", as if this was an innocent, natural phenomenon. How will people approach the Basilica of Saint Peter, in Rome, be made into a mosque? -.

Check below the monorail starting 0:12 - this is ordinary tram... And compare the monorail speed to the speed of passing-by cars...
