She has a stunning vocal talent. Her songs are surprisingly difficult to sing and she deserves so much credit for being a very skilled vocalist.

This is what no auto tune is like a real human voice w imperfections that make it more emotional to me like she’s fighting w her feelings struggling to tell what she’s kept inside

Oh boy. That girl is hurt. And angry. And way too wannabe-sophisticated. I suppose she will know by now. But I am honest. I chose this video above the official video because it´s real. The world don´t need another woman hiding her angry feelings beyond a curtain of social accepted behaviour. She´s real in this one and I like it. Not because she suffers and griefs. NO! She´s real. And that is great. You can´t lie in god´s face anyway. So why try?

As a singer myself I find her voice so fascinating in this piece. On her albums she successfully navigates the low notes- so much so that it appears effortless. In this recording you can notice that the low notes are tough for her and her range is more comfortable at high alto or soprano 1. This just shows how incredible she is- like a ballerina that fools us into believing what she is doing is easy for her, Fiona's low alto range is not natural for her. She stretches for us. That takes incredible focus and breath control. GOD I love this woman. She is astounding.

As a proud, strong, 34 year old Black man, I probably have no business breaking down into sobbing tears, while listening to a song from a 17 year old Fiona Apple. But this one right here... good lord, man. This is divine music, in my book. True artistry such as this has grown rather scarce, in my opinion. The album version is sublime.
