I don't agree with the last point , don't try to write script which your audience want , you can/should do it but not always Why ? Because that is one of the reason why most of the small youtubers quit after short time , do what you enjoy , out 2billion users there would be atleast 1k or 10k people who would like your content , who would enjoy that

You are right to some extent. Actually, it all comes down to what your goals are. If your goal is to go viral, then you have to do what the audience likes-that is the harsh truth.

I din't really agree with the algorithm thingy, I would want to start a youtube channel just to have fun, and people who are truly interested might stumble upon your videos and enjoy it, If somebody finds your videos they might share it with other people or act least check out other videos on your channel and maybe even subscribe. I think it's better to find an audience that enjoys what you're into rather than an audience who is just into a trend or whatever is popular. And with the competitors thing, it's good to not follow trends. If you post original content and your audience is into that content they will most likely still watch you, assuming that the other content doesn't post the content that you do. I think this theory would be really good with music and art in general, all original music is different and all art is different, making it more appealing if the viewer likes the kinda stuff you do, and once again, other youtubers they like don't post content like you do. I'm not a professional, but these are just my thoughts.
