As a "relatively young" person of 31y, I never had any connection to the original. In Germany, however, the song is one of the most perfect endings to emptying a full beer festival tent at 3 a.m. so that people go home. I don't know how many times I've celebrated and sung this song while completely drunk, but it was definitely way too often. The cover puts me in exactly that mood when you're standing in a German tent (like at Oktoberfest, only smaller) at night on the weekend, completely drunk, and just feeling the song. I want to raise my beer glass and sing with you, knowing that there will soon be no more music and beer and I have to try to get home 😢

completely crazy. I'm watching a cooking show on German TV and suddenly I hear a song by System of a Down in the background, but it's clearly a cover. Now I enter it into KZbin and the first suggestion is this, the video used in a German cooking show at prime time. It's the format "Die Kochprofis - Comeback am Herd" who used it in one of their interviews for the episode "Waldschänke Pelzer". Beautiful song and an outwardly melancholic cover, maybe the artist will be happy to read at some point that his cover was casually shown to a much larger audience and that everyone who knows the original was probably extremely happy. 😊
