It's awesome! Sooooo smooth and flippy! I think it's the best in the stunt truck RC world. Super compact and powerful.

I have a granite and 4s outcast . Love them both . The granite is really upgraded . The 4s outcast seems pretty good as is . The inky thing I ll add is the M2c brace and already put the M2c pistons in and there is zero bounce . The pistons work good in the 4s shocks becasue there’s no diagpnram so it’s emulsion I think they call it and the difference is really noticeable on rebound with the 4s one bit tje Kraton 6s I could hardly tell until it lands and it’s smooth .

It's so flippy! Easy 5x backflips. Front flips are not an issue. Standing backflips are easy peasy. It is now a super rowdy powerful short wheel base stunt truck. Best of all worlds.

I'm watching a lot of your videos tonight for the first time because I just now subscribed to you and I also like that you have a beer in most of your videos and a more impressive beard than mine (not to be judged from my profile pic). That being said, I've done a lot of research on the SCX10-III mods and I wish I would have found your videos sooner. I never even thought about flipping the shocks to lower the weight, but it seems so obvious now. I also broke my upper panhard mount in the first 10 minutes of driving my newly built kit and that was quite frustrating. I upgraded to aluminum and also checked my steering linkage and end points very closely to keep it from happening again. So far, so good. I have been searching the internet without success to find someone else that wanted to remove the 2-speed completely instead of just locking it out, and you are the first I've found that did it. I was just doing that tonight. I want to go a bit farther and remove the extra slop by making preferably a different shaft and gear that locks in the single speed gear and eliminates all the other 2-speed slop, but at least a 3D printed piece that can lock it into place. I don't have a mill or lathe, so for now I'll be working on a 3D printed solution.

I run 3s on 2280kv castle creations slate motor and I feel like I have more than enough speed with my 11t pinion. I'm using a Savox servo, I think 1212, but I'm going off memory. I'm currently only running it on 6V, but that's about to change. I'm taking out my 2-speed and contemplating the dig. I'll probably keep it for now, but I have a BEC so I can run my steering servo on the full 7.4V and keep the dig servo on 6V. I love the idea of the high clearance links and that is on my list of potential upgrades, so thanks for the video.

Nice job on the roof removal... I'll be doing that to mine. I assume you've fixed the clicking but if not it comes from two gears in your transmission being the wrong way around. One side of each gear has a rounded slot and the other a square, yours are the wrong way around.

I built mine the same as everyone since they are kits, but I don't have any clicking what-so-ever. Then to hear that some have had no luck with any of the fixes make me wonder if Axial's tooling or something is off, or maybe they were in too much of a hurry to get them out, It would be interesting to see if the clickers are limited to early units or if it is still an issue for the one just being sent out now. I does look like they were in a hurry anyways, poor unproofed instructions, poor fitment here and there with inner fenders and shafts and gears, and my peeve, hard to get to clips. These three thing are in my opinion quite lame on Axial's part, the inner fenders should clear the body better, the gears and shafts should fit way better (like DUH) and a system for body mounts should be far easier and faster, and proof read the flippin instruction before send them out. Axial just barely eked out a unit to get them back close to the top, but really didn't do anything to special or bring any clear advancements like Traxxas did. I don't think tape will last long enough, but does show that it works, I assume. What about a valve gap feeler gauge cut to length and curled around the shaft, they come in so many thicknesses, maybe that would last a suitable time. I also think the gear is what needs to be fixed, not the shaft, it still needs to fit into the bearings for proper support. The ID of both the bearings and gears should be the same with proper fitment. If I remember correctly the shaft fits fine in the bearing, so the gear is the odd man out. Thanks for the video, good job.
@RippyRC4 жыл бұрын
You absolutely nailed it my man. Very well said. I couldn't have said it any better. Kudos to you. All that you have mentioned are the reasons I have a somewhat bad taste in my mouth with this kit. The shaft does fit into the bearings fairly well, there is a slight gap even in the shaft to bearing. But as you know from watching the video, the real tooling air is shaft to gear. I've ran about 15 hours of straight runtime on it since fixing the click... The click is still gone. I think your idea of a super thin feeler gauge cut to length would be something worth trying. I tried many different kinds of tapes and the only one that really worked was the 3M painters tape. Everything else was just a little too thick. 3M painters tape is .1mm thick. I think a 0.07mm feeler gauge would be a great starting point. The feeler gauge is so much more robust than painters tape, I feel a 07 mm may be the ticket.

What size pinion are you running on the scx10.3?
@RippyRC4 жыл бұрын
I'm running the 14t pinion ... But I'm also running the optional gearing in the transmission to bring the gear ratio to 77:1
@Ferra39044 жыл бұрын
@@RippyRC oh ok. How do like that setup over stock? What's the benefits over just gearing down the pinion and spur?
@RippyRC4 жыл бұрын
It will give you a much lower gear ratio. Stock transmission gearing with a 11 tooth pinion will bring you to 58:1. If you want to go lower than that, which is a good idea for the super slow crawl control, you will need to put in the optional 34 tooth and 20 tooth gearing. If you want to go lower gearing than that then put a 13 tooth with the optional gearing to bring the gear ratio to 83.5:1. 12 tooth will get you 90.5:1 and the 11 tooth with the optional gearing will get you 98.7:1
