The reason is that Nigeria was not a settler society for Europeans. The Europeans settled in South Africa and exported technology to South Africa. They deliberately avoided any introduction of technology to any of their colonies. The schools they set up in most of their colonies were done to teach the locals to be clerks . This is why there is disparity . As Nigeria begins the quest for its technology this will even out soon .
