Thanks for making sure I did not burn out my server and or GPU 🙂 Do NOT use a modular PSU CPU cable. It's deceptive because it will plug nice and snug into the riser power socket and plug into the K80 as well. You could naturally assume everything is fine because only the right plugs will plug into a matched socket? Nope. Not the case. Do not turn the power on 🙂 As a matter of interest the M10 can use a normal modular PSU PCIE GPU cable on both ends. Why they made the K80 the way they did baffles me.

@@robinmountford5322 The thing I don't like about the modular PSUs is the wires aren't color coded. Easy to make a mistake of things aren't keyed correctly. Yeah it is weird some of the Tesla cards are EPS 12V and some are PCIe powered.

if the crushed HDDs have good logic boards, you can resell those to data recovery shops that need to replace the logic board to recover the drive.

When I use to work at Walmart we had those handhelds. Ran Windows CE. But how Walmart had them setup was they will boot into Windows CE, open a remote access terminal to access a SUSE Linux Server to run a old program for finding items, price checks, price changes, print out labels, etc. They called them "Telxon" which was the name of their first handhelds and the name just stuck. Now they Android based handhelds. It is a little strange to see newer cables in the bin now. At one of my old jobs, IT threw new cables away that I would take. VGA, AUX audio cables, USB extension cables (non 3.0) to have a few spares for myself.

@@joshua8389 that's pretty neat. I knew these older unit ran a mobile version of windows. I always assumed they had some custom program for the inventory tasks. Didn't realize they connected directly to a server. I am excited at the prospect of getting free USB C cables more often now.
