There is some thing you forgot. All treekin and treemen protect their allies from magic attacks, so your crew men don’t bypass the wildwood ranger’s phisical resist, so long as a treekin is nearby. Also wildwood rangers get a +25% boost to Ap and basic melee damage, and a +10 to MA, when an enemy terror causing enemy is in range. So your jade lions made them that much stronger. On the other hand your jade lions would help to clear them out with their wind blast bound spells. And also buff nearby melee Cathay units with harmony. So it’s a give and take.

That first minute is the exact reason I dislike taking train into gunline factions, which TK sort of is due to ushabti greatbows. It gets shot to half health before it does any damage. Though it did allow the destroyer to close in without taking much ranged fire.

Lizards got a lot more viable options on this matchup now and it feels like SE spam is the safest bet on the chorf side. Extremely hard to keep guns operational when mass red crests and kroxigoros can overwhelm your frontline now. Coatl also either force a gunline unit to move or make it take damage from bound spell and they now do decently if they dive in.

GG - great to see clan rats being useful! These next weeks are going to see a few surprises i hope, that coatl bomb o the skaven flank was nice, and your right about the skinks - had they stayed with range it could have been a roll from one flankto the other. Special awesome play with Fear of Aramaar - i thought the routing might have spread but Mazda is just ferocious. Great game - bit of something for everyone!

Idk why they didn’t go back to the zapzaps after using apotheosis. There was nothing over there that could have realistically been able to prevent it from efficiently killing the skaven artillery. If they did that I think they prolly would have won to be honest, those zapzaps got far too much value over the course of the game and borderline hard carried tbh.

CA really needs to take a second look at the Cathay Dragon forms: Without collision attacks they never reliably hit, they lack the scaly skin passive (so easier to shoot), they have really bad acceleration for their speed stat and despite being their "true" form, they lose MA/MD as dragons while people like Drazhoath even get MA on their monstrous mount.

Yeah it's unfortunate that collision attacks are having to be used as a band-aid for bad animations but CA's much more likely to implement that than going through all the effort of changing animations so is what it is. One annoying thing is that the Dragons in their human form don't have immune to psychology so they can get terror-routed which is really dumb. Their models in dragon form are at least very wriggly so they end up dodging a lot of bowfire that comes their way at least. And the 25% spell resistance is nice.

@@TequilaSunsetVids I also noticed the missing ITP in human form, makes no sense when every sequence and dialog in the game makes it clear that they are all the time aware that they are a dragon that chooses to be in human form at this moment... so why should they be afraid of something like a Zombie? Yeah, sometimes I feel sorry for all the devs doing the animations. While it would be bandaid, I would say it does not matter for us as players how the devs fix an issue as long as the fix works. But as far as I know, collision attacks for Cathay was intentional not recommended, so they might stay in this strange power middle ground for quite some time.

Aside from a few exceptions, this seems to be a pretty reasonable patch. Chaos Dwarves, Lizardmen, and Wood Elves seem to benefit the most (the latter are getting closer to a viable melee template with the deployment of the Vanguard). Wildwood Scouts are now basically unarmored Swordmasters, but they cost 300 less, are faster, have very good skill, and the Vanguard deployment makes them much harder to take down, which is the biggest problem with Elite Infantry. Chaos Dwarves could have benefited the most from buffs to Hobgoblins, including deeper changes like rebalancing unit model counts and stat tuning, but buffs are buffs. Silver Helms could benefit from a similar change to Frostknights. Nerfs to Dwarves are entirely deserved and to some of their more broken units. The addition of Glorious Charge opens the door for other non-Kislev units to gain access to the ability in the future. Hopefully fixing the bugs will make the Steam Tank and Landship less OP. High Elves get buffs without any nerfs which is always a good thing. Eltharion still has a massive overrun on tap (and the Mistwalker is still worse than it was in 5.0). Ilthimar's Chariots don't get any specific buffs while the other two chariot types do. Scouts are in desperate need of any kind of buff. The Phoenix Guard's psych immunity is something that will help make the unit more useful and gives them something the Fireborn don't have, the Renown Regiment could have a niche against Nurgle with immunity to contact effects and flaming magic damage. I never liked how MP was implemented on High Elves and it also ignores that in the tabletop game it affected shooting. But I doubt CA will change or modify anything other than the timing of the shutdown at this point. Khorne gets missile upgrades, it's very strange to see that or for Khorne to have more shooting than some of the other armies. Kislev was mostly nerfed with cost increases, warriors started at 450 if I recall, they've already gone up in price twice. I think By our blood should have less duration on the most basic units and longer duration the higher level 10, 15, etc. I don't know if increasing the leadership of spectral units will really be helpful, the biggest problem they suffer from is that there are more and more magic attacks. Black Coach should be much more useful now.

Love large battles like this. Honestly I felt like the avalanche mortars would've done well. In these large battles players can't help but bunch their forces so I don't think it would've taken but a few shots to repay its cost.

In the case of Eltharion, I think that him being more expensive than Karl is a good thing. You're paying for the possibility of taking spells, even if you're not taking them. The change that they could implement is making Eltharion more expensive while making his gryphon cheaper. He might be slightly weaker bare-bones, but when properly equipped, that is not a problem. Besides, he also has that barrage ability, which is decent as well. One thing that I would prefer is fixing this ability instead of cutting his cost, but well.

This is the exact opposite of how CA designs casters and non-casters. Just check the generics in the HE roster, melee characters have high base costs than casters. CA just hates Batman. :P

@anon2428 They aren't though. Compare the Dragon mounts which cost the same as Etharion's griffin to him. Way better combat stats in most cases, main difference is 6 MA. Batman has better combat items but you pay extra so it's a wash. He's just obscenely overcosted for no good reason. The archmages are from his DLC so CA just dropped the ball and never fixed it.

The best argument for Eltharion costing too much is the fact that he is never used. He was acceptable for a brief time during 5.0 when mistwalkers were effective and CA changed him back to being forgotten. If it's not the price then CA needs to improve other things because there is no better proof that Eltharion doesn't work than the fact that he isn't used.

Overall looks like a decent patch. Will have to see the chariots in action, though I'm not expecting much. Kislev might finally be reasonable since they got cost increases on bunch of their cheap units and heavy war sleds seem like they can no longer handle infinite chaff. Steam gyros also getting heavy nerfs might make them less of an autoban. Pretty disappointed on the low tier treatment. Nurgle might be a bit better now since pestigors don't seem to be that much worse and the tandem of flying charge tweak and rot fly charge bonus getting doubled might give them more options. But slaanesh seems overall worse with pavane getting a big cost increase, fiends getting nerfed and I don't think the SE and heartseeker damage buffs can compensate that. Norsca's changes seem irrelevant. Chorf changes don't really seem to change much, they are forced to use only the super expensive or cheap units and everything in the middle is irrelevant.

For mass they would either need slave ogres or k'daai fireborn reworked into 900-1000 price point unit with stats more similar to melee ushabti or kroxigors.

So, yeah, permanent silence on a fast flying monster that cannot easily bodyblocked like Karanak or the Golden Knight, ofc this is not broken... but most likely this change is bigger for campaign than multiplayer.

Norsca one was so half assed, the community doc had values to fix the mammoth jank and CA just threw 100g discount and called day, discount again on dragon is super lazy and will make them spam vs limited fire faction characters getting meaningless shit like+4CB on mammoth and zeker walking speed buff, wtf was that. They barely do meaty patches and when they do are super shy for factions that need them years ago.

Gg gw will help with the vc inability to combat a monster mash, which has been a serious weakness since launch, soi think they will alleviate some of the more frustrating matchups change. Specifically, i think tomb kings will be much easier and maybe beastmen too, but it should reduce blobbing against vc, which is nice cause vc brings enough blobbiness to any matchup anyway. Really wish they changed mechanical units to not be able to be healed with spells that heal bio units.

@@Lallunalapruna123 yeah talons isn’t all that efficient of a spell in general since the nerfs. And it’s even worse against Lizardmen since they tend to just bring cheap skinks. Usually I take a yin shugi lord with the slow and the summon or Zhao Ming with plague of rust and dragon’s breath.

I think it's underrated but Tempest magic tends to be more reliable. So Ice gets overshadowed. Both Hailstorm and Blizzard are solid damage spells. Hawks of miska is also good for damage and leadership bombs.

Ice does see some use but mostly when Katarina on her sled is good. The AoE slow, icemaidens kiss and death frost are all good spells.
