PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 0:18 Examples of the spread of a perturbation in a complex system 5:02 Ecological networks 6:32 Big questions for the future 8:30 Human impact: how are ecological networks responding to changes (invasion increases network connectivity, warming and N deposition cause changes in the relative biomass of plant/herbivores/parasitoids and rewiring of their interactions) PART 2 - PREDICTIONS 9:52 Species role and impact: it is conserved across different locations (Stouffer et al. 2012).You can predict the impact of an invasive species by studying it in its original community (Emer et al. 2016). Also if species shift their range because of climate change we know that they are going to interact with the other species from the food web the same way that they do it in their original range. 12:33 Species composition: the environment selects species based on their traits (Rader et al. 2014). 13:30 Species interactions: if the environment selects species based on their traits, then how does this affect how species interact with each other? There is a trade-off between not having the same traits (to avoid competition) and having too different traits (interaction partners stop interacting with you) (Coux et al. 2016) Who will interact with whom can be predicted through a niche-based approach using just a few traits (sometimes just body size) (Eklof et al. 2013) Looking at their phylogeny, we can predict the number and identity of interaction partners in many cases (Rezende et al. 2007) Humans are causing species to reconfigure their relationships (Lavandero & Tylianakis 2012, Peralta et al. 2014, Aizen et al. 2016) Predicting extinctions using network roles: we can predict who will respond to environmental changes by looking at its position in the food web. Specialists and rare species are more vulnerable to habitat fragmentation. By knowing the position and the interactions of a certain species we can predict the probability to lose after the environment has been fragmented (Aizen, Sabatino & Tylianakis 2012) Spatial processes, species traits and network roles. (Hagen et al. 2012) 23:17 Land use: it changes interaction strength (Tylianakis, Tscharntke & Lewis 2007) Different habitats are linked together by generalists seating at their edges (Peralta, Frost, Didham, Rand & Tylianakis in press) Species tend to migrate from less productive to more productive habitats, feed there and then return back to the less productive habitats (Rand et al. 2006). The movement of predators between more and less productive habitats drives apparent competition (Frost et al. 2015). There is a high overlap in parasitoids between native forests and plantations. Different habitats work together (Frost et al. 2016). 33:08 Food-web homogenisation: in human environments interactions are always the same all the time and everywhere (Laliberte & Tylianakis 2010) 36:33 Management: how do you manage landscapes? 40:27 Ecosystem functioning: how do network changes relate to it? Resource partitioning underpins biodiversity effects on ecosystem functioning and is also implicit in the architecture of interaction networks(Thompson et al. 2012) (Peralta et al. 2014) (Tylianakis et al. 2008) (Laliberte & Tylianakis 2012) PART 3 - CONCLUSION 43:20 Conclusion

I am in the United States. We are not going to accept change. We will militarize and weaponize. We are not going to give an inch of our lifestyle. We have already demonstrated to the world that will invade and declare war on any country that stands in the way of Exxon Mobil. Just look at Iraq. The US government is well aware of the climate crisis. We have no intention to respond.
