with that first gear shift, it sounded delayed. was that traction control doing its thing? i just test drove one that did the same thing, and it concerned me. but it happened for me in the 3-4 shift. any advice?

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

As a Diesel Technician, (who drives a second 24V myself), I feel like I can speak for this. I agree here that at that high of RPM out of that 12V, he should definitely be cleaning up that smoke. He is definitely not making enough boost to take advantage of the fuel he is feeding that thing. Also, bro, that was a god awful shift he made there. Damn near missed it. The shift took so long that the cummins spun down and he lost a lot of the spool up he had on that turbo. No spool, no boost, it's gonna fall on it's face until it can re-spool, which at those RPMs doesn't take very long, but by then, it was much too late because that Duramax was definitely in it's happy place in terms of boost. I'm gonna chalk this loss up to a bad tune combined with poor driving ability. Sick Duramax by the way. Awesome race.

Finally a good sounding 6.4. I want to like 6.4s SOOOO badly. They’re fast, they look really good inside and out, and they have some of the best transmissions ever made for diesels, but they are WAY too unreliable 🥲

Dodge was throttle down... It's why it's smoking. If they were on the brakes to slow down. There wouldn't be any smoke. Watch it again. Running lights are on. Look at the side marker lights.. Good try though

I drove my son's 06 Sierra Duramax from NY to Ohio pulling a 20' steel decked trailer!! with 37s for tires,, you know how heavy they are! I was shocked! I have a bunch of diesel trucks myself,,driven trucks with Cummins in them (which is more an engine built for power in trucks and tractors) ,, but this truck was flying , with tons of power to spare!! Holy cow I never thought I would feel a diesel drive like that! I was impressed!! Cummins are good engines,, except the 5.9! They are weak blocks! Too much pressure in the cooling system can crack those blocks! That's why you see so many of those engines for sale on market place! But, I had to comment,, I was so impressed with the power and speed this duramax had! But,, if you don't stud them,, definite head gasket issues around 130k. But every engine ha its corks!
@countcuda706 ай бұрын
5.9L isn't a weak block. Not in the least. The "crack" block you're referring to, is the 53 block. It's not from pressure in the cooling system. It was a casting issue. The 5.9L block has gone over 2,000hp. I have a built 5.9L and a built 6.6L. They both great engines. Sucks the Cummins is wrapped in a Ram..

I’m certainly no drag racing expert, but to me it looked like when the in the Cummins driver shifted for that half second, dude in the duramax saw his opportunity to hammer it. Or he was just toying up until that point 😂

We dodge guys live our life’s one transmission at a time. But to be honest I don’t think it slipped I think once he new he could win and passed you he let of the gas and hammered back down to smoke y’all just saying lol listen for the tone change. A slip would just rev the rpm. lol the black smoke stoped so he let off. 47re transmissions suck but the Cummins is a million mile engine if you take care of it. Facts. Can deramax say that

Yes, Duramax engines go over a million too. Ram is a manual, Einstein 😂
