Look closelly, he is using mixed reality the googles bypass using cameras the conckpit part to his vision, only what is outside the cockpit is game world rendering. Search viperwing youtube channel, they have some more detailed mixed reality with cockpit videos to see the tech in action.

Those screens should have been mounted around the windshield lile my mig21 full sim cockpit has but then i upgraded to bigger 3 monitors and they are curved and allost match the curve of the cockpit as well

I think (I could be wrong) that when you look past a certain point downwards it turns on passthrough an uses the headsets external cameras to see the real world and the cockpit.

It's Mixed Reality, not pure VR and it was shown in the video. You simply don't get the thing. And it makes the difference. I've made a cockpit for F-16 for VR and the difference is huge.

VR > than 2D with trackIR. Especially if you have a headset with actually decent pass through or hand tracking, if you're physical space is 1:1 with the virtual.

Bring on the Varjo XR4. Solid pass thru will allow you to see the MFD’s and interact with the physical cockpit and look outside. Expensive but since this whole setup is probably already $25k+ a bit extra for good vr shouldn’t be an obstacle.
