Lazy content. She's Nigerian of European descent. When you are born and grew up in a place, you take the accent of the place. Many "white" people are in Nigerian who speak the pidgin and have the accent. Not all of them come online for you to celebrate them. Jeez, this isn't rocket science. A lot of black people have British/American etc accents. White people don't create content about them lol.

I guess the case has always been the opposite, us visiting and leaning their language
@inceptionarts2947Күн бұрын
@yummydishes2279 not really. They too come to Africa and learn our languages, albeit to study Africans like lab rats. Africans however flock there either because they were forced or the harsh realities in their respective countries compelled them to. Ironically, the Europeans still influence both angles.

@@abdulfatai2769 your comment only highlights a lack of understanding about citizenship. Before expressing opinions on topics outside your knowledge, it’s best to check the facts. It seems you’re unfamiliar with the concept, given that this video features a white woman who wasn’t born in Nigeria but legally obtained Nigerian citizenship. Instead of making shallow remarks, try staying informed.

The thing is that suya is originally a northern Nigerian delicacy, precisely the Hausa tribe. They are the ones that sell suya throughout Nigeria. They own it. However, when it comes to relocating to the Western world or elsewhere, it is not common among Hausas compared to their southern counterpart in Nigeria. In fact, they relocate more within Nigeria than outside Nigeria. Now, because our cuisine has intermingled among ourselves, the southern tribes that usually relocate to these Western countries are usually the ones that prepare suya in their restaurants or events . Unfortunately, suya is not indigenous to their tribe coupled with the fact that the spice mixture gotten in these African markets might not be at par with the ones in Naija. Hence, the reason why suya will not taste top notch like that of Nigeria.
@african-tales-and-vibes3 күн бұрын
You're very correct! When it comes to suya, nobody can beat the Housa guys both home and abroad

You did say it right but here in America, the indian, Senegal, Sierre Leone, The Gambia, both Guineas all have Suya even Mexico and it is known as ke kebabs. But Nigeria own tastes better bcos of the peanut spicy mixtures but abroad, alot of people are alergic to peanut

@@bestekezie1793 It is not surprising that the few West african countries you mentioned also do prepare suya, as these countries you mentioned have strong cultural ties with the Hausas in Northern Nigeria.

I have the best of both worlds. Being a Nigerian/Ghanaian. My first time learning Nigerian pidgin was 1999 while hanging out with Nigerian friends in school in the UK. But at the same time; my default setting is Ghanaian pidgin and my Nigerian friends always make fun of me when on vacation in Nigeria cos sometimes I forget and speak in ghana pidgin before I immediately switch back. Lol almost 46 years later I’ve learned to switch it perfectly depending on where I am.

A country rule by people with parochial mind set. Cannot replicate what is in this video in all part of Nigeria, China and other countries did replicate development evenly, it is the reasons developments went round the whole country whereas in Nigeria, development was done haphazardly because of tribial and ethnic bigotry.

You've never heard of diversification? Not putting all your eggs in one basket? Besides, do you know how powerful entertainment is? The US 'colonised' the world not thru its military but its entertainment industry esp Hollywood and its music including hip hop, rap, pop which took over the world....its part of the reason America has soft power today, so don't look down entertainment. On a local level, do you know how Afrobeats music has contributed in reshaping the world's attitude towards Nigeria and Africa generally? Thru this genre, many people now see us in a different light unlike before when all they know of Africa is poverty, wars, disease, hunger, starving kids etc So theres power in entertainment- its helping to change the Afican narrative
