I feel like part of him being underrated in the fandom and underutilized in choreo has to do with him being the tallest so he doesn’t block out the other members visually, but it’s definitely weird not to compensate with well deserved yunho center dance breaks and signature moments, especially considering he’s the official main dancer for good reason. There’s definitely parts where other members block him out regardless of height, so it’s really unfair. I have seen people say he doesn’t have the same “demonic” energy the more popular members are so famous for that’s so signature to Ateez, but I think like yeosang he has a quiet charm that you just feel safe and comfortable with, and his dance is just hypnotic to watch. His smile is cute and his acting onstage more than makes up for the “lack” of “demonic” presence, which many non-atinys consider unnerving and a reason not to stan, and I think a lot of people would love yunho a lot more if they let that shine too. Unfortunately, demonic pirates is kind of ateez’s brand identity and brand identity gets views and money…but yunho is and should be more than just a monetary investment. My girlfriend’s bias is yunho and she said she was surprised that someone like yunho was in ateez.(Also, he would absolutely fit right in in txt and height wouldn’t be an issue but that’s a moot point, and he needs his princess mingi 🫶🏻)

Also, I feel like his versatility almost hurts him, because every other member except maybe yeosang has some sort of signature that says “yep, that’s ____ from ateez.” (Mingi’s fix on, joong’s giggle and demon energy, jongho’s belt, sans muscles and demon energy, seonghwas visuals and demon energy, wooyoung’s cheeky smile and boisterous energy, yeosang’s deep voice that they’re finally using) whereas yunho is so good at everything in the industry that compared to the other members, he doesn’t feel as unique. I think that absolutely could and should be his dancing and other pursuits like acting and modeling, (I mean, matz and woo are getting brand deals lately, why not yunho?) but so far he’s more of the glue that holds them together, musically, dance wise and personality wise as the energizer. While that’s all well and good, it means he’s under appreciated by fans and I think he definitely picks up on it, for example the live where people compliment the other member while he was there and receiving nothing until he brought it up. It’s sad that he felt the need to. Unfortunately he’s been established as less popular, so KQ won’t invest in changing that as long as other members bring in the money, which they absolutely deserve the appreciation, but they’re no more or less deserving as yunho is. I honestly think yunho could bring in a lot of fans from dramas and those unsettled by the demon line’s performances, and it’s a shame that they don’t seem to see that, for yunho’s sake especially

Yunho has, in contrast to many other male dancers, a lot of elegance in his moves. Did you ever really noticed his hands? He appears less aggressive while dancing. Thats what makes him unique (for me). ❤
