I love this so much, thinking about it, I think Quasimodo does mention to Esmerelda that he can't hear very well because of the deafening impact of the bells, so this interpretation makes me incredibly happy

Radicolos and sad this parody of the original music of the Disney movie.

No... Sorry to say but the movie is better, the actors can sing and there is no out of rhymes effects.

I like to think that Alison Fraser, who originally played Martha, would smile to hear/see this. ^_^ Fantastic job, Daisy! "Mary" has truly come a long way. :P

People are always complaining only when the performers being cast are black ones, and frankly that’s just boring and tiring at this point. Also, people who are a part of an oppressed minority perfectly understand the tone and the way this song was performed here. In the original movie the performance is subdued, the request is almost whispered and that can work too for people who never suffered oppression to the point of being exhausted about it, but a character asking for justice and peace and to be allowed to just live doesn’t have to always do that. A character who’s had it with the authorities’ arrogance and cruelty is going to be done with quiet whispers, a character who is desperate is going to rise their voice to be heard. It’s only human nature. The only people who have anything against this performance are the ones who never had to beg, never had to suffer dehumanization and the complete utter loneliness of being outcasts. As a queer woman, a mentally ill person and a disabled person, I feel this performance way more than I do the original. Die mad about it. Congrats to the performer of this version of the song. You nailed it. 👏

I don't know if you can hear me or if you're even there I don't know if you would listen to a gypsy's prayer Yes, I know I'm just an outcast I shouldn't speak to you Still, I see your face and wonder Were you once an outcast too? God help the outcasts hungry from birth Show them the mercy they don't find on earth God, help my people, we look to you still God, help the outcasts or nobody will I ask for wealth, I ask for fame I ask for glory to shine on my name I ask for love I can possess I ask for God and his angels to bless me I ask for nothing I can get by But I know so many less lucky than I Please help my people, the poor and downtrod I thought we all were the children of God God, help the outcasts, children of God
