Even the inquisition struggles to mess with the founding chapters. They are more than happy to kill off some chapters out of pure spite but picking a fight with the ultramarines or the space wolfs or god forbid the blood angels is a death sentence. If you pick a fight with them you pick a fight with most if not all their successors chapters and their friends. We see this when an inquisitor tried to have Dante exacuted for “herrasy”. There was 8 different chapters there and 2 of them hailed from the blood angels but despite that none of them followed his order and when the inquisitor and his men raised their guns at Dante EVERY space marine pointed their guns at them.

This angered kharn so much that his own men were scared into silence. Tho to my knowledge his anger isn’t directed at abadon but more at the fact he didn’t kill him with his own hands as at one point sigisman and kharn were very close
