I really like the idea of building a future base at ruins. On my most recent vid I raided the ruins for building materials but the main problem is that area was so negative on my temporal stability that I cant stay for very long.

Head to Bedford station, farthest train car from the station, best weapon for beginning the game, the railroad spike rifle. Ammo is hard to come by so use VATS, but it can save you. Also, peek around corners instead of walking out in the open :).
