4Runner and Cricket is a good match and drives well together without any significant driving characteristics change. They are very similar in height so you don’t have so much wind resistance but your MPG will still go down to 15 on highway and this is normal for most towing situations. Get a good brake controller and you should be good to go. Good luck with your search!

@@theoutdoordad7395 Tab400 is more complex and feature loaded trailer with much more creature comforts which I missed more than I anticipated. Build and design quality are excellent on both unit but it would be unfair to compare these apples and oranges. They are both well built and are sturdy. In fairness there more things to break on Tab400 but didn’t break.

@@heyBurt thanks, I’ve been looking at the NuCamps and the Taxas. Pretty different design/construction philosophies but both seem like quality smaller campers.

No leaking at all, this is a well built camper. Cross ventilation with windows open helped in warm weather but being under the shade helped even more 😅

There’s one point on the music I seriously got up to check if there was a rattle snake in my back yard, my dog was out and if you’ve ever heard one you’d know what I’m talking about.

It received some scratches from concrete boat launch but they were cosmetic in nature. I have sever strips of plastic protectors where it would receive the brunt of contacts and they are all holding up. I am told that the hull of these kayaks is not that thick so I try not to be too hard on them.

Fishing was good! I was going for smallie’s. It was only windy at the south part of the lake and it wasn’t windy at all by the campground.

We have a 2019 t@b 400 BDL and it's my wife and I plus an Australian Sheppard and lap dog and we've put about 30k miles on our rig with our longest trip being from FL to AK. For storing - we have a microwave so inside it we store bread items. In the open storage area above the stove we store any food items that are soft packaged as things in this area seem to fall out on rough roads. The cabinet next to it is our spice/coffee/creamer etc. storage. Under the stove we have three drawers dedicated to clothing. We opted for the larger fridge, so no closet but we have one larger drawer under the fridge and in here we store heavier personal items (extra shampoo, makeup items, etc. The cabinet under the sink we store plates/pots and pans. I'll be honest, when we started this cabinet was jammed full but we've started downsizing. Basically if we haven't used it in two trips, we take it out. In the round cabinet at the entry way we store a kettle, dish washing and laundry stuff, and an electric skillet. Usually there is room to add extra drinks as well. In the front seating area we use the area where Burt was seating to store one extra set of sheets (there are small shelves tugged behind the wall that we set these on). Right under the window we have a bag of spare napkins. Behind the cushion is a cavity where we store extra rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. We keep a close eye on this area when winter camping cause it can get warm from the ALDE unit. In the bathroom we removed the sink (if you go to the nucamp forum there is a thread for this) and we are so glad we did. Lots more room to move while showering. On the top shelve we store spare towels. On the second shelve we have all the stuff we need for daily use. We replaced the mirror on the door with a longer one so my wife (who is vertically challenged) can manage her hair better. So, if it isn't clear, we have the bathroom door open and use the kitchen sink. Under the bed we store items that we use outside. I purchased three military style plastic boxes that hold the following - first box in holds extra drinks or whatever we want to bring. The second box in is our water box. It holds the water filter, water hose, hose connectors, clorex wipes. The first box and last one loaded is the electrical box and it holds our power cord, surge protector, two small extension cords). Next to this box we store six lego blocks. One for each stabilizer and two for the front hitch. Traveling in our t@b for almost three years on some long trips we have learned a lot with the main thing being not to over pack. I hope some of this helps.

Thanks, yes I can definitely hear it during certain conditions but I am not sure if it is in “loud” category. Some may find it a bit annoying but I was fine with it.

Thanks, I’ve gained much appreciation for KZbinrs during this trip. It is a lot of hard walk…especially when you are at unfamiliar places.

That sounds like a bit of exaggeration but having said that these kayaks do seem to scratch easy. I haven't experienced anything like structural damage from normal launching from pebbly beach and your average cement boat launch.

I agree. The music was obnoxious and wrecked what could have been a good video.

I think Outback is a sturdy and well built kayak and I would have gotten it if it was easier for me to store, transport and deploy it. Lynx’s light weight was my main reason for choosing it. I am happy with it.

Oh my goodness, there is no comparison. My decision was based on my current circumstance. Tab400 is by far superior in terms of comfort and roominess. To me, Tab 400 is a real RV and Cricket is a camper for minimalist. You should spend some time in each camper if you can. Good luck.

@@heyBurt Thank you! That makes sense. I thought maybe you didn’t like the Tab 400. I see the Tab 400 is now $45K+, which is crazy, but the Crickets are pretty spendy, too.

@@whippersnappercc Yes, all RV and camper prices are crazy right now. That was why I bought one used...even then my 2017 Cricket was more expensive than what I paid for my used 2019 Tab 400. Other things to consider are, do you have a place to store Cricket or Tab400 (or anything that you plan on buying for that matter) and how often do you plan on using your camper/RV? Ridgeline is a great tow vehicle as well as daily driver. The previous owner of my Tab 400 towed with his Ridgeline. Just FYI, I've notice couple Tab400 owners I follow on KZbin upgrade to a bigger trailer. Personally, I thought Tab 400 was big enough but then it always boils down to individual needs and circumstances.

@@heyBurt It's just two people camping, so I don't think space would be a huge concern. Storage could be an issue. I can put it in my front yard as I don't have any HOA's or zoning problems with that, but my neighbors might not love it. I think I might just wait for the madness to subside. 45-50K for a Tab 400 seems absolutely crazy to me, and the new Crickets are 35K+, right? I think the used market might adjust but right now it seems like a bad time to buy.
