I buy my laying pellets from my local farmers co-op, and it's not the same as tractor supply. Everyone i know of right now haven't had any eggs in months, and I'm talking about a 50-mile radius. I feel it may have something to do with 5g towers because they were just installed everywhere here in the past 9 month's.

I used your recipe and method last winter, and I have returned to make them again this year. It turns out just like my grandmother used to make. Thank you for the great recipe. 😀

Thanks for the tip of tying the bloom to lessen confusion of which has and has not been pollinated. I got really confused several weeks ago. 😔

Thank you. Im devastated.... I had my hen in my arms.... She tried to fly off, and i instinctively grabbed one of her legs. I heard a pop and now she looks very similar to how your hen was standing. We've separated her, put the splint on and is in a decent sized soft dog cage now. How long would you give it before i had to make 'the hard decision '?

I would give her at least a few weeks( up to six weeks) to heal...change the bandaging every few days ... and even if she seems better ...I wouldn't let her back in with a rooster for a while... roosters are heavy and can re-injure thier leg during mating. Hope your little gal gets better soon!

I had a beautiful mulberry tree outside my bedroom window. The birds would come when the berries were ripe and I could watch out my window as the birds dropped from the branches to get the berries on the ground. The new owner of the duplex spent 2 days cutting it down! The trunk pieces are still laying in the yard since early March. I felt so sad for the birds and the tree that had been there for at least 15 years. By the way, excellent idea with the sheet.

I grew up on a farm with a couple hundred birds but this is my first time owning my own. I've owned them for about 2 years. I researched things at the beginning of my chicken story and heard about the producers pride putting stuff in chicken feet to keep hens from laying. At that time I was afraid if I fed them as babies then they would be sterile for the rest of their life. So I never bought producers pride. I finally ended up buying their crack corn, it's more cost efficient. Did not have a problem with the cracked corn. I eventually caved and got the multigrain and kept feeding laying mash from my local market. I'm on my second bag of producers pride green and my hens have completely stopped laying. I will be throwing out the producer's pride. And going back to my old feed.

I'm surprised to see the initial water drained and rinsed. There's some good flavor in that liquid but you mentioned you don't like beans with a strong flavor so that makes sense. I always keep that so it all thickens up.

Hello HHH. Ok, so for starters, what seems like 3 years ago to you is only 2 days ago to me. Strange how that time machine on here works. So, first off you need to know that we are old bean cooks and we are from the souf. Been cooking beans for about 5.8 billion years or so, seems like. Therefore the LAST thing we need is advice on how to cook beans from a granddaughter. HOWEVER.... (Don't mention that I said this to the actual bean cook here. Sometimes she hits and sometimes she misses.) We tried your instructions on some Great Northern beans yesterday... (The north is also known for Northern Toilet Tissue, btw)....and I must tell you that they were the BEST beanies to come from our kitchen. Your concoction worked SPLENDIDLY. I would urge anyone reading my imperious sounding words to have a go at it percisely as laid out here. And be sure to lay in 3 slices of good salt pork for the meat. Wow!!!! I thankee! PS... You were presciently correcto about the overage of bagged beans from last year. Ha. Your fans in Alabam, Norm & Vicky

We had eight kids in our family. And were very poor. One of my most precious Sunday memories: We'd get our baths. Then watch Wild Kingdom and World Of Disney. Mom would make biscuits and cook up about 10 packets of Wyler Bean Soup Mix. So wonderful.

I've been ordering seeds from Burpee's Seeds for a few years. One of my favorite is Burpee's Best Hybrid Zucchini and this year I hand pollinated a female flower with a male flower from the same plant. I let it mature and got a bunch of good looking seeds. Now I'm curious what the plant and the fruit will be like next season. Being a hybrid I guess it will be a gamble?

The gas from beans comes from extremely complex sugars in the beans. Called polysaccharides, your body simply can't digest them. The bacteria in your large intestine can and will break these down and feast on them. Their feasting causes the gas. There are enzymes that break down those complex sugars like beano. Unfortunately, this often changes the beans flavor.
