@@metoo9076 they are rushing to icon park “Responding” I can’t share US news links as they don’t show in the UK etc. I’m not going to put myself in danger and go towards what we heard at the time was a shooting (one actually happened an hour after the Icon park incident!)

@@Tuttio-01 from a post on Facebook: 🚨LARGE GROUP OF JUVENILES REPORTEDLY ATTEMPTING TO TAKE OVER ICON PARK-10:00PM🚨 OCSO & OPD are on scene at Icon Park on IDrive for a large group of juveniles attempting to “Take Over” the park. There’s one confirmed fight on property and multiple businesses have called for assistance. OCSO has a command post setup in the area where OCFR units are staging. Deputies are in the process of shutting the park down. There is no word on injuries or arrests. I have requested info from OCSO. All information provided in this posting is from radio traffic and may not be 100% accurate. They must have moved one of those wagons because when I got there early there was another one to the rear of those two on its own. This was number 966152.

Meanwhile the diversion route via Settle to Carlisle remained unused because every TOC don’t have a spare diesel to drag a set round the line closure. Yes, it takes longer but it’s far better than no service at all. Under BR a ticket constituted a contract to get the passer to their destination, why does that rule not stand these days?

Margam to Carlisle freight? Crazy the Canton or Margam breakdown crew would have sorted that out immediately.

Shap/hardendale quarry to Margam, was sorted by 3pm the next day, they couldn’t use a crane due to overhead cables.

I'm not familiar with this area so this might be me being stupid but the derailment looks like it is in a siding rather than on the mainline, if so could a TSR past the site have been used rather than a closure ?

Freight trains were still passing and it had came off on a turn point from what I believe. I think the closure was more for health and safety seasons

They’ve already rerailed one of the BYA’s that’s stood clear, just working on the last one. They are using jacks to lift the wagon up and slide it over, can’t use a crane due to the OHL.

I was onboard the tour hauled by the castle and she certainly put on an amazing show that day. From realtime trains timings 34067 arrived in Carlisle just 4 minutes after 5043 had arrived. Incase your wondering why the tour with 5043 was running so late it was because a passenger had to be taken off in Preston as they had just had a heart attack so we needed to wait for an ambulance to arrive, apparently the air ambulance was involved. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYnMk4Kkedt4g9Esi=WCfzoBh-GTfqMl74

The livery does suit her but she would look better with a Collett tender as for most of her life she ran with Collett tenders while Tyseley shedmate 7029 Clun Castle ran with Hawksworth tenders for most of its life.
