They do sometimes leave (at least in part) because of the company. Organisational/Corporate culture can unwittingly support poor management behaviours in its desire for compliance and increased productivity.

This is 1000% true! I am doing this now. Managers! Stop burning out your employees. Stop running them into the ground like slaves. Stop making them perform the jobs of multiple people (and without additional compensation). Recognize their efforts more often and treat them with the same respect your employees give you. Stop micromanaging and sending trivial emails all day. Then you will have employee satisfaction and retention.

I’m not disengaged I’m recovering from severe stress and I was hospitalized and I was hospitalized because I was burnt out and they claimed I was suicidal and gravely disabled yet I’ve been functioning and working just fine for two years

And plus they sabotage u get employees to find out much about you they get employees to go on dates with you to get information set up and all different kind of forms they smiling face they cut your hours. They destroy your forklifts so can’t even drive them get an accident for you to a write up I seen all this done big warehouse like Costco. The lazy coworkers get away with murder. They still got their jobs while the hard works lose their jobs. It’s so crazy what is happening to every job you go to

It never works to go to mangers Human Resources supervisors, employees union reps they’re all working together. It’s like a cult you better believe it. They look for target then try to smear your name all through the job you could be working there for 10 years 15 years and they’ll be riding from all those years until the target quits or get fired. It’s a sad process.

I'm bored, disengaged, and unmotivated but that's probably temporary. I thought I was masking it so well until I came across this video - I am burning through my leave. I've just returned and applied for a further week off next month, missed a team meeting, and yesterday, I chose not to attend a meeting outside of business hours (something I've always done). I'm hoping to fake my engagement into the new year, so it's great to hear this so I can better mask my disengagement in the job/role.

Doesn't work when you have inattentive ADD really bad and you have a house destroyed by Hurricane Michael still sitting over there and the settlement wasn't enough to recover it and everything still in there so talk about overwhelmed. I just went to bed last summer for a year. I just couldn't deal with it anymore and I still have problems dealing with it even though I went back to work part-time but it's retail and standing and painful. sometimes you're totally alone with just your dog and God. You realize you don't have any friends or family that give a damn about you and no help. So I think I avoid even living life because getting out or even getting up and getting a shower is a struggle.

Sally I appreciate your response and am so sorry you have experienced a ton of challenges this year. My suggestion would be to find someone you trust to talk about your feelings so you can identify small steps to take to get your life back on track. Each small step will lead to getting things accomplished and remove the stress of that one task. Ask for help, don't feel like you have to go it alone. Taking continual small steps will bigger accomplishments. I know it's hard but moving forward is the focus. I am praying you get the help you need to no longer feel overwhelmed and lost. Please let me know how it goes...

I secretly interviewed for a different job a year ago; I was in the top 3, and upon seeing the facility, and meeting the staff in person, I thought "I'm all in on this new job, and I could retire here." I didn't get the job, but I would say that was the moment when I mentally quit my current job. I tried not to be obvious about it, but I have stopped checking in with my boss, like you mentioned. I am not in danger of getting fired, but I would certainly say the passion I once had is never coming back.
