What temperature are you keeping the room at and how long do you leave the light on each day?
@earth_heart_aether3 ай бұрын
So I have some pereskiopsis and loph Willi I am preparing for making some grafts, I nursed the pereskiopsis back to health, they were pretty neglected when I got them , a week ago they were all looking really great and ready to be grafted onto. But I didn't have all the supplies I needed to follow through. No I have all the supplies but I'm noticing that the bottom leaves on the pere are yellowing, and pretty fast. A little bit more each day.. working up towards the top. I guess my question is, is this yellowing normal? Should I be concerned about it? I see some of your pere also have yellow leaves and you still graft to them. Should I just ignore the yellowing? Also is there a way to stop it from progressing further up the plants, I was feeling really good about them having all great looking green leaves and now I'm a bit confused and concerned about them. Please anyone who has knowledge, help if you can . Open to all and any suggestions. I just want this to work ya know. Thanks I. Advance, I hope someone sees this.
@WillsCactusGarden2 ай бұрын
Hi, the yellowing of the leaves is normal. Pereskiopsis is a cactus that likes to stay wet and rarely dies from rot. When they get a pause in watering (which is what we want to do for grafting) They will use up moisture from the leaves and shed the leaves. After grafting you leave it for a few days for the grafts to connect then you begin watering them. To keep the leaves green long term you do not want to let these plants get bone dry for extended periods of time. Unless wintering of course.

How do you induce flowering to gather seeds?
@WillsCactusGarden2 ай бұрын
They need to reach flowering size. Then high temperatures, bright light and ample water will induce flowering.

Why? I wanna grow peyote but why graft?
@BONEKRUSHER4085 ай бұрын
They grow stupid-ass slow from seed (all cacti do but these are especially slow), some people want a nice sized plant while they're still relatively young
@livefreeordie17765 ай бұрын
@@BONEKRUSHER408 how long would it take to grow a peyote from seed to size to eat?
@WillsCactusGarden2 ай бұрын
Grafting considerably speeds up the growth of these cacti. Say I want to breed these plants and from seed they take 5 years to produce their first flowers. With grafting I can produce flowers in less than a year and do more rounds of breeding.

Greetings. Someone I know is germinating some seedlings I'm a very similar setup. Only difference is that natural light from a window is being used instead of artificial light from above. They were germinated in coir and covered in a humid environment. Ambient temperature ranges from 68 at night, to 76 in the day. The seedlings are growing oblong and cigar shaped, instead of round and button like in your video. Is this cause for concern?

You might as well go with something that you can actually watch grow that is a whole lot faster growing than peyote that's San Pedro you are able to find pretty well anywhere you find at Walmart Kroger's Home Depot As most large plant nursery in the United States of America You can legally poses it grew it sell it but it's illegal to consume it or prossess it into powder or tea as it grows about three four inches month able average 40 50 inches year as Peyote takes about five years that seed about size of a dime if you're lucky ten more years to harvest?! Oh boy think about you're might get 😢10th gram button off it first time in your possible you might get couple more buttons off it in yours lifetime where's as you can harvest Two or three foot segment middle of San Pedro Bottom Grow New Pup's Three Inch Top Cactus 🌵 Will Start You Another When Only Had One Turns Two You High Hell In Middle All Just Shot Clasd full Remember This Shit Strong 😊times Long Beach to Long Island You can Myself ordered mine on Amazon for around twenty bucks each I bought My first two species couple months ago I ordered One Peruvian Blue Torch One I😅 Called treacherous blah blah Over My Head Moment I'll Probably Learn Pronounce it before can spell it
