Thrilling playing by three virtuosos. Great Beethoven.

This Eroica sounds as if it is being played by ghosts on ghost instruments.

Leif, Maestro I must tell you that your performance is the one I believe will go down in history as the Gold Standard. I have heard a dozen pianists and conductors (or more) play this piece and none has come close to the fantastic shine of this orchestra and choir led by your beautiful playing. I watch all the others just so I can appreciate you more. Blessings be to you.

This is a wonderful version of Beethoven's ninth Symphony by a fantastic Russian orchestra. I specifically searched for a Russian orchestra when I decided to listen to this great symphony. Russian orchestras are best. Russia stands as the most artistic country in the world. And that's the truth.

Solti could play Beethoven's pieces to perfection. With any orchestra, his versions are for me the best. This character inspires me a lot and makes me appreciate classical music.

The first movement is my personal favorite even though all are great. I just love the original sound which is why I think Beethoven did all 33 variations.

Dear Maestro ! It is the 1st time I saw you immersing such physical effort in performance - the 100% attitude no doubt . Reminds Sir G. Szolty's manner to convince the musicians and the public as well. Once again the gravity of music translated by posture / calculated movements - everything to the sake of maximum expression no matters what. It is the luck of contemporary technology that enables to share the art of a kind to millions that take music seriously and by that educate world-widely what is ingenious and therefore true . Be well.

I'd put in a good word for the four vocal soloists and the choir, who go unnamed for some reason.

Bernstein's version is probably the most grandiose and most magnificent... I can listen to it 1000 times always with a love of Beethoven! Can someone perhaps tell me that this version was recorded in which year and on what occasion. Thank you very much!

Other comments worry about the length of time he took to play. My viewpoint is who is he playing for, hopefully not only for other performers? I find the performance very expressive and and accurately played so I clearly hear the notes. Poor guy has two band aids on--must practice so much he injures himself.

Let me start by saying that I am not musically trained. Dudamel knows how to forge the orchestra, the soloists and the choir into a unity and thus raise them to great heights. Dudamel also knows how to transform the bombastic Beethoven from the first movement along the second and third movement into a dazzling and swinging fourth movement. Bravo to all for this performance! This performance is truly an "Ode to joy".

I am from Caucasus and I amd nationalist. That's why I am ver sad that we don't have Beethoven. He is really the king of the music. Germans have created three things that turns into zero all their culture: communism, nazism and porn. Moreover they are originated from vandals. Communism among them is realy the most horrible because it has killed 95 milliones people during only one century all over the world. I think that only Beethoven is beyond all of this shit.

Alondra is the most beautiful conductor in the world, I am sure. But whether man or woman is not important. The key is her music interpretation. I am surprised her music has become more dynamic and deeper than several years ago. She is also now one of the best maestros in the world.
