Can you just tile over this or you need to add another board of some sort?

Hi ! I am trying to soundproof my ceiling from upstairs impact noise, such as stomping. I’m planning on adding sonopan and 5/8 drywall on my existing ceiling. Do I need to add resilient channels will this be effective without the resilient channel?
@DIYBuilt20 сағат бұрын
First off, you’ll never eliminate it completely, all it will do is muffle the stomping. Even with all we did we couldn’t completely achieve complete silence. I wouldn’t waste the time or expense on sound bar channel Best of luck with your project

I'm just about to make this. Any tips on how you actually fitted the internal shelves and holders would be appreciated. It looks like you used small squares of plywood as mini shelf brackets? And a central piece of 2x4 screwed down the middle?
@DIYBuilt6 күн бұрын
Yes that’s exactly right. Basically 1 2x4 down the center and strips and blocks of 3/4” plywood screwed to the interior of the cabinet. It’s all dependent on the tools you’re planning to store, what I did was placed all my tools out on the floor and then individually created shelving brackets to hold everything. Hope that helps and best of luck with your build

The floor is a terrible choice of color and so is the tile i hope there is a tub somewhere in the trailor everyone needs a tub shower combination ...
@DIYBuilt25 күн бұрын
Thanks for your take, the floor is actually a fairly high end vinyl plank, color choice is what it is. And the shower tile is white so I’m not sure why the color is wrong 😑. No there is not another bathroom with a bath tub.

Do not like how the title of this video does not at all match what the video is. The title makes it appear as if it is a review of the product, but instead it is a "how to" video . . . did dot hear anything about whether it is "worth the hype" or anything at all about it working or not. Thumbs down for that, not coming back.
@digitalsicario28 күн бұрын
Maybe if you stick around till all the parts are available and find out for your self. I think judging by the title its part 1 of 4 but i could be wrong 🤔
