I RELUCTANTLY SOLD MY 1970 (MANUFACTURED 12/69) HONDA CB750 K0 MOTORCYCLE WITH 45,191 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, Vin #: CB7501016269, ENGINE #: CB750E-1016228 FOR US$ 11,000 TO A CUSTOMER IN DENMARK MORE THAN 20-YEARS AGO. THIS AMAZING MOTORCYCLE CHANGED THE PATH OF MY LIFE, AND OWNED ME FOR MORE THAN 35 WONDERFUL YEARS! IT WAS PURCHASED IN THE SUMMER OF 1972 WITH LESS THAN 4,000 MILES ON IT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER FOR $935.00 (PLUS "USE TAX" AND "TRANSFER FEES", THOSE STATE BASTARDS!). BECAUSE OF A DESIRE TO PRECISELY MAINTAIN THIS MOTORCYCLE, I WENT TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER (KOLBE HONDA) AND ORDERED THE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL. I LOOKED AT THE REQUIRED TOOL LIST AND SAW THIS "VACUUM CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZER" AND WENT TO THE KOLBE PARTS MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THE PRICE WAS $387.00! SINCE THIS WAS MORE THAN ONE THIRD OF WHAT I PAID FOR THE ENTIRE BIKE, I RODE TO THE LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND PURCHASED FOUR VACUUM GAUGES, 3-16" RUBBER VACUUM LINE, "BUNDY" BRAKE LINE TUBING, AND FOUR METRIC SCREWS THAT MATCHED THE PORTS ON THE CARBURETORS. LOOKING AT THE SMALL PHOTO IN THE MANUAL OF THE SYNCHRONIZER, I REALIZED I NEEDED TO PURCHASE FOUR "NEEDLE VALVES" AT THE AQUARIUM STORE TO DAMPEN THE INTAKE PULSATIONS. I BUILT A COPPER MANIFOLD AND ATTACHED THE FOUR DISASSEMBLED GAUGES TO A VACUUM PUMP (AN OLD REFRIGERATOR COMPRESSOR) AND LEARNED TO CALIBRATE THE ANEROID GAUGES BY BENDING THE BOURDON TUBE SO THAT THEY ALL TRACKED EACH OTHER, THEY DIDN'T COME THAT WAY FROM THE FACTORY! I CUT THE BUNDY TUBING INTO LENGTHS, AND BRAZED IT TO THE METRIC SCREWS THAT I HAD DRILLED AND ADDED RUBBER O-RINGS. AFTER COMPLETING AND TESTING THE PROTOTYPE, I WENT BACK TO THE PARTS MANAGER AND SHOWED IT TO HIM AND HE SAID HOW MUCH FOR A QUANTITY OF TEN? AFTER NEGOTIATING A PRICE WITH HIM, ON MAY-15-1972 (MY 20TH BIRTHDAY) I FORMED MY FIRST COMPANY, THE "FOUR DESIGNS COMPANY" TO MANUFACTURE MY FIRST COMMERCIAL PRODUCT: THE "VACU-TUNE" CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZATION GAUGE SET FOR HONDA FOUR MOTORCYCLES (I SOLD MORE THAN 3,000 OF THE GAUGE SETS). You guys can't even show the motor or the numbers on it. What about the 750E...? Every body's always going on about the 750k.

I had the low pipe version with a red tank. Only problem I ever had was one bad coil which was repaired under warranty. Rode it about 35000 miles

This was the 1st bike I ever owned. Bought it used in 1971 with 500 miles on it. Man I loved that bike.

Get out and ride it man. It's just a machine, okay, it's a rare and very cool machine but still a machine. What's it worth? 20 grand....30 grand??? That's the price of a cheap new car. Ride it and when it gets worn out rebuild it again and then ride it again. Otherwise what's the point? You don't have to break it just because you ride it. Look at Leno, every machine he owns is used but kept in good running order. You aren't doing it any favour keeping it as an ornament.

Just got a similar one left to us by my girlfriends dad when he passed. It is fully restored and has been sitting since about 1974 or so. Its a October 1972 bike. And just needs the side cover installed and a batterie and she’ll be running and complete. It even has the break in sticker on the tach still.

I was surprised. 56 years ago, when I was 16 years old, this bike was sold by a senior. The color was blue, but ... The front wheelie is done even in the third gear. It was a very wild horse-like bike. Thanks for uploading the video!

beautiful scrambler

I've always liked the look of the high pipe scrambler models from that era.

The previous models had a little bit flashier paint & graphics, but that is one of the cleanest "A" series bikes I have ever seen. Lots of time & effort put into that one. Nice job.

I know it’s a long shot but any info on where I can get a clutch or a rebuild kit ?

For those unfamiliar,its a 1969 A7 SS [high pipe] Avenger 350cc rotary valve two stroke.The 350 was released in june 1967 and they finished with the A7B in 1971.
