An honest Mori man from Chosu and his Satsuma buddies calmly explaining the Tokugawa that they aren’t in power anymore with convincing argumentation through field artillery.

My grandfather, William Thompson, a proud member of the esteemed 101st Airborne Division, 506th Infantry Regiment. His journey through the crucible of war would test his courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his brothers in arms. From the harrowing skies of Normandy on D-Day to the bitter cold of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, William fought with valor and determination, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers. As a paratrooper, he faced the terrors of jumping into enemy territory, knowing that every descent could be his last. During the chaos of D-Day, William's unit found themselves scattered across the French countryside, far from their intended drop zone. Undeterred by the confusion and danger surrounding them, they rallied together, determined to complete their mission and turn the tide of battle. In the heart of the Ardennes Forest, amidst the frozen hell of Bastogne, William and his comrades faced overwhelming odds as the German army launched a ferocious assault. Surrounded and outnumbered, they held their ground with unwavering resolve, refusing to yield to the enemy's relentless onslaught. As the battle raged on, William distinguished himself with acts of extraordinary bravery, leading his fellow soldiers with courage and determination. In the darkest hours of the siege, he risked life and limb to deliver crucial supplies and reinforcements to his beleaguered comrades, earning him the admiration and gratitude of all who served alongside him. Despite the bitter cold, the constant shelling, and the ever-present threat of death, William never wavered in his commitment to his brothers in arms. His unwavering resolve and indomitable spirit inspired hope in the hearts of those who fought alongside him, driving them to persevere against all odds. In the end, victory was hard-won but well-deserved. William and his fellow soldiers emerged from the crucible of war battered but unbroken, their courage and sacrifice forever etched into the annals of history. Though the scars of battle may have faded with time, the legacy of William Thompson and the brave men of the 101st Airborne Division, 506th Infantry Regiment, will endure for generations to come, a testament to the human spirit and the power of camaraderie in the face of adversity.

"Hold dear to your live but lead the charge." So different from later japanese ideas of how soldiers should treat the own live in battle. This here tells them to try to survive. Because living soldiers can fight while dead ones are just dead.
