Although I disagree with these takes, I do believe that Frankenstein and 1984 are OVERRATED even though I still enjoy them fairly. I respect your opinion to not enjoy them though. This is my first video I’ve seen from your channel so idk what other books you like, but I would like to recommend some books if you haven’t read these: Blood Meridian and The Stranger are both great books, both are decently popular books so it’s very possible you’ve read them idk. If not though they’re really good I would definitely check them out

Really respected your view on 1984, knowing that you have been over saturated to the Genre and tropes takes a lot of self awarness a lot of other people would just say is poor writing in general

I’ll definitely check out Myth of Sisyphus. How could you have read this many great and challenging books by 16! Assumed you were 25 given how many books you’d read. Dracula is not boring at all, one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read. Deep dive into Francis Bacon would be great. Check out 1Q84 too.

Yeah I hate these too but it’s not because they’re “modern”. You’re comparing genre fiction and literature, essentially different audiences being catered to. Old 80s sci-fi covers were notoriously abysmal.

I can see the message of this video but it’s probably disingenuous to say people haven’t implemented lessons from those books, just because you haven’t implemented things from those specific books. Also books can change your life without being a self help book to change your actions. A change in thought processes and ways of processing information or observing the world is a change in your life. A change in the internal does not necessitate a change in the external, behavioralism as a hypothesis has been left by the wayside btw.
