Great credit to Ireland keeping possession for so long, and the French didn't concede any penalties either.

This is the defining moment in modern Irish rugby. No more moral defeats. Win. Win. Win, whatever it takes. Leave nothing behind. Not since the arrival of O Driscoll in Paris with a hat-trick had Ireland said things are different now. 41 phases from your own line, 5 mins of un-penalised possession going into injury time, against an epic French defence at home in Paris, who have not conceded a penalty, yet pushing them back into drop goal distance. And then having the audacity to deliver the coup de grace by Sexton. This is not just a score. This is an announcement. A proclamation, if you will. The old Ireland is dead. This is a new era of Irish rugby. Just look what has happened since. This is sport at its finest, passionate, foul-less, with winning or loosing on a knife edge. One of the greatest sporting moments I have ever witnessed.

As an RU fan I can definitely say Shontayne Hape could have been a world beater if he hadn't played in that England transition period post the 2003 world cup

I was behind the goals at the opposite end. Brilliant game. I knew it was between the post accuracy, but distance, as sexton trying to wave it up with his fingers as he was going backwards, and it took a while before nigel owens acknowledged the drop goal. Sexton kick to Nigel blew the whistle was the longest moments of the game for me.

Controversial statement but there will never be a time in rugby to equal the teams of the early 70s.

I'm glad we won that. That French side were very very negative. They deserved to lose. They changed their game the next year. Now they're hear to watch.

Big moment to start was Henderson getting his hands on the drop out. Superb retention from Ireland then Sexton drop

He was actually told by the other players to get over to the other side for the drop out before the penalty was taken. Can't see it on this clip though

Johnny Sexton is not Physically impressive, but that giant heart and desire to win is the most essential part of sports, and this man had an abundance of both. Much respect to a legend.
