As the years passed Kevin's segments in 157 Riverside Avenue got longer and longer....to the overall detriment of the song. Not only a microcosm of a larger transition but a fine example of the aphorism "there's no show without punch."

Kevin's voice is tremendous.

Gary completely shaped the way I played in the beginning. 4 yrs after I began, 50yrs+ now...

Great recording Ned….Love all live music by REO 72-77 before Cronin F’d up the band’s sound. They are a rock band, not a bubblegum pop band.

Kevin had a great voice and the way he used intonation and enunciation with the lyrics really added to the songs. However, Gary was the main power in REO and it was his sound and his performance that put the band out front. Gary was very underrated but he was one of the best guitarists around.

Met Steve prior to a show from his ‘94 tour in Mesa, Arizona at the outdoor Mesa amphitheater. He was signing autographs and we were last in line. He signed our ticket stubs and had to run off to start the show! I was in utter shock that I had just met him😳😍Steve was very friendly and it was an honor to briefly meet The Voice! Been a fan of Journey since I was a young teen in the early 80’s🥰 If I only had a cell phone to grab a selfie with him…Can’t believe this was 30 years ago😳Journey has not been the same without Steve Perry… Thanks for sharing this! On a side note the first Phoenix show was cancelled due to crazy rain and he rescheduled then it down-poured rain again weeks later at the show I attended but it didn’t stop Steve from performing that night… he was AMAZING as always and a great sport about the rain… He laughed at the odds that we were in the Arizona desert of all places lol ⛈️⛈️🌵

Mid to late 60's my buds dad owned lou's quarry in appleton,wi. A beer bar. We would go there on saturday to get the place ready for the night. Soon a vehicle and trailer would back up to the door. The bands were REO, One Eyed jacks,Fuse, the future Cheap Trick. Amazing days. Many more bands. It was fun.

Thanks to Krone-in, they just got more and more wanky. Gary rocked

Of my 200 concerts in this arena, this was in my top 3 shows. Hope my friends back then are still alive and well. Heidi, colleen, terry, sean, steve and steve, mark and cindy.
