I need help. I have a Cummins ism with a actuator just like yours and for some reason when I turn on my truck it pushes the actuator rod all the way down and if i rev it up to 1500rpm’s and hold it there my rpm’s quickly jump up to 1700rpms then drops down to 1500. For that reason I can’t drive it because it runs funny. When looking at the turbo you can see the actuator rod move up and down every three seconds with the rpm’s set on cruise control at 1500rpms. But if I eliminate the wastegate by just plugging the air line that comes from the actuator all the problems go away. Help

Do you have to do this each time your start you truck. Or you keep it unplug forever and no codes come up

obviously the best truck engine for owner ops would be the detroit 20v149 2 stroker with straight pipes on each side of the cab, a small yet fuel efficient engine that is also quiet 👍

Any need to bleed the air bubbles out? I ran out of fuel, engine starts up fine now then shuts off after ~30 seconds. Starts back up fine, shuts off again after 30s…repeats 10 or so times then will run fine from there. Replaced CPS, no obvious fuel leaks or air but I’m wondering if there’s simmering keeping the fuel system primed? I can hear fuel leaking back into tank after it shuts off

Rule #1 Fluent English is mandatory if you don't want drivers to misunderstand you and make a mistake. I have worked with a Mexican supervisor. He has a great heart but damn i have made mistakes because his English is terrible. Now go ahead and tell me I'm racist. 😂

In California central valley, you cannot live off the rates they have for PO load board. Here's a few examples what they have right now: Tracy>Stockton with 7 total stops, 70 miles, $275. Tracy>San Jose>Tracy, 126 miles, $257. Tracy>Hayward>Patterson>Tracy, 140miles, $285. Nothing near the rates in this video. Maybe if they paid a fuel surcharge it would be worth it. Not sure why they dont give fuel surcharge on Load Board loads.

I've been handling EGR issues for years, and i can tell you from experience that this is terrible advice. The EGR exists to save fuel. When load is low, the exhaust gas displaces the fresh air, so less fuel is required. It effectively reduces the displacement when power isn't needed. Unplugging it only burns more fuel. You get more power, sure, but most noticeable when under light, or no load. Unless you like to accelerate quickly for fun, it's of no use. If you do, then you should probably race cars instead of endangering the lives of others.

I worked team 5 At JEP in 94/1995 assembly line and before I installed the valve cross-heads. I was finding an inordinate amount of misaligned half locks in the valve spring retainer. That got the engine pulled off the line til the repair was made. The pointing fingers between the head line and assembly was comical, I must have found a dozen or so over time until it was rectified that had me with TOP "good Catch" overall finds write-ups for the team I was at 40 percent and 2nd place was my friend Doug at 10 percent.....and down from there for other employee's. A friend from test showed me a disassemble engine that ate a valve and it was destroyed. Being a mechanic gave me the edge to spot problems where most others were just droids putting in they're time. so what did they do when production was lowered; they booted the temp (me), so some other got to stay on. The line was producing the L10 and the M11 engines at that time

Drive one every day . 2000 379 .. 600 Cat with a Super 10 and 3.70 rears . The Super 10 .. It's the transmission you either really love it or you really hate it . I LOVE it . . Oh .. I don't grind em in either . Just so ya know .
@edmiller31284 ай бұрын
Just in case .. and assuming .. you don't know .. You can actually shift the lower 3 gears like you would a regular 5 speed . Just need to build up a little more speed between gears . Top gears should be split .. but after you learn how to shift without the split .. they can be straight shifted also .. with a split on the last gear . Like I said .. I drive one all day .. every day . It's an awesome transmission after you learn how to shift one . No grinding required .
@cesargonzales54592 ай бұрын
@@edmiller3128 i have the same set up , what rpm did you shift bud?? in and out or did u hit the splitter on to the next gear
@edmiller31282 ай бұрын
@cesargonzales5459 I don't shift at any certain RPM . I shift by what the engine wants according to how it sounds . It's just something you learn to do as you get used to a truck . Every truck is different .
