One of my favorites. Was at Sax Zim several years back during the big irruption. We had 57 Great Grays in one day. While photographing one sitting in a tree on the back slope of the a roadside ditch it just popped off the branch, swung to it's right and plunged thru at least a foot of snow and came up with a small rodent. Didn't even care we were about 30ft away.

@@OldGuyDIY I tried it was kinda plug. Still getting hot believe theres still tons of air in system. I did backflush the heatercore it was never changed ever. Trucks 2002 dakota 3.9v6 it had decades of gunk buildup. I use chris fix superflush tips and actually worked. What engine is yours my 3.9v6 has the same coolant reservoir with hose from to radiator cap T.
@OldGuyDIY
@OldGuyDIY 4 күн бұрын
This was a friend's vehicle with the v8. If you think there is excess air in the system, just run it for 30 minutes in the driveway as we did in the video and watch as it burps out air bubbles. When you go 5 minutes with no bubbles observed, replace the cap on the radiator line and you should be good to go.

hi, the new rix k3 has 17 degree FOV but 2x base magnification. How does that fit in here? is the 2x base a further reduction of the FOV? I can't figure it out. Thx
@OldGuyDIY

those specs would fit between the TM10-256 and XP50. yes, a larger base magnification will result in a reduction of FOV, all else equal. what is your intended use case?

Great video. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra with a slightly different issue...I have no back lighting on my door switches. All fuses seem good and I cant seem to get them to work. Do you know if this switch controls these as well? Thanks.
@OldGuyDIY
@OldGuyDIY 15 күн бұрын
If the door switch works but is not backlit, it is a matter of failed led lights within the switch, not a fuse. I suggest picking up a door switch assembly from a junk yard and swapping it out. Good luck.

@@OldGuyDIY Appreciate the response. I thought about that as well but I just replaced the mirror switch as it was not working and it also has no backlighting and it's brand new.
@OldGuyDIY
@OldGuyDIY 14 күн бұрын
As I recall, there are three electrical plugs that go into the driver door switch control; heated seats, mirror control and door locks/windows. Based on your experience after replacing the mirror switch, I suspect there is an issue with the solder for the light circuit on the window switch circuit board. I am not interested in troubleshooting circuit boards personally so if it were mine, I would buy a driver's door switch from the local junk yard. In situations like this, my go to junkyard, LKQ in Grand Rapids, MI, allows to me to take a part from one of their vehicles, walk out to my truck, plug the driver's door switch assembly into my truck and see if it fixes the problem. If it is the answer, I go back in and pay them. If it is not the answer, I take the part back out to the yard and place it on the dashboard of the vehicle it came from. Good luck.

@@OldGuyDIY Cut a piece of large garbage bag plastic about 3" larger than the bucket shape. Place on top of clean water with 1 1/2" up on each side. Put seeds on plastic about 1/2" thick. Will stay dry. Another thing I do is use the lid and drill or cut a 4" hole in the center of the lid. This way our chickens, dogs, cats etc don't mess with the seeds and cause water to get on top of the plastic. We are catching lots of squirrels. When we catch a squirrel, I throw away the soiled water and seeds and start over. When we don't catch a squirrel for days the seeds still are fresh and we eventually get another squirrel. We live in a hot desert and the seeds in water get bacteria bad smell in one day if they get wet at all. Let me know how it works for you. You have my permission to publish a video utilizing this. I made it up and have not seen any video using this so you will be the first on YT.

I was stuck not knowing what to do. 5 stars man if you don't shut the gas off after use and let it die on empty carb it creates problems eventually Oh yes lets not forget about the Tip on the gas. That is really well done! Thank you for sharing. I’ve been looking for a pre made discrete case for a while, other than a pickle ball case most of it still looks like a gun to anyone that’d have a clue. Other than tools being more likely to get stolen than a tennis racket I’d say it’s perfect. Since I’m not leaving it in the truck it’s perfect for my needs. Now I just have to see if I can find a case to fit an 11.85 inch.

I really think we need to start getting more aggressive. Like, don’t even bother with immobilizing it, just set it up to where you get a notification when it moves without you, remote activate the door locks and window locks (to keep them in), then, remote activate the taser in the driver seat (make sure you reupholstered that seat with conductive thread at each seam), and watch the show via the dashcam with your loved ones. 👍

It's so you can bleed your brakes by yourself. Can you hook up the air compressor and pressurize it with a little bit of air. That way you don't have to have somebody sitting inside the vehicle pumping on the brakes while you're bleeding at the caliper.
