I’m installing the 5v crimp roof. It’s difficult to install my screws into the top of the rib because they are so pointed. I’m having to pre drill ea hole for the screw.

Now days they like to put them in the flats .I think it's because some roofers over drilled them and they later split. I think you are ok as long as you're careful on how you drill

That sure is easier than putting a metal hip cap on.
