Six Flags does indeed pay for new attractions. I actually was told this by a past park President at my home park Frontier City. Now what ever is added by Six Flags if Six Flags reliquishes their management rights they can take any additions they have added to the park any type of capitol expenese like a new ride, Kitchen Equipment, etc. They can either take it with them when a managment lease ends or they can sell them to the new managment company or /and the owner in this case with FC and Darien lake it would be EPR.

However 😂 Millennium is DEFINITELY BETTER THEN ORION AND LEVIATHAN 💯 Hands down....To throw some weight on my opinion, exactly how many Golden tickets has Orion or Leviathan won for BEST STEEL COASTER???😂 EXACTLY!!!! Millennium won at least 10 times!!! Plus it's the original Giga, and that lift hill and 1st drop are legendary, classic, epic, and flat out some of the most important historical elements of Roller Coaster History.

Shoutout to United Parks and Resorts (formerly known as Seaworld Entertainment ) for the gems of Pipeline, Mako, Iron Gwazi, Verbolten, Texas Stingray and Pantheon (I'd add Montu and Alpengeist as well).

All of the top 6 CF legacy(Cedar Point, Knotts, Kings Island, Wonderland, Carowinds, Kings Dominion) and SF legacy (Magic Mountain, Great Adventure. Great America, Fiesta Texas, Over Texas, Over Georgia) are being kept. All CF legacy parks are essentially safe, CGA is already known to be closing. SF legacy parks the EPR lease parks(Darien Lake and Frontier City) are going to go, which just lowers the expenses of having to deal with poorly performing parks. Frontier City is an absolute albatross where they having up to 16M impairment the last few years. The 4 stand alone EPR leased water parks will also go. How soon for these EPR parks will likely be based on the penalty clauses for early lease termination. That leaves 7 legacy Sf parks that could be potentially sold, eventually. The fact is while they are under performing they will likely try to spruce them up, get a few good years of improved financials and then try to sell them off to maybe Merlin or Herschend, etc... Sea World(United Parks) might even be interested in Discovery Kingdom, as they have animals. They don't have to pair a big park with a small park sale. History shows people will buy under performing parks if they see potential..ie...KY Kingdom and Kennywood were sold and even on a smaller scale Indiana Beach and Fantasy Island.

SF Legacy parks are going to tried to made more like Cedar Fair legacy parks that's already started by things that are happening. SF legacy parks have and continue to severely under perform. The financial results for 5 or 6 years have spiraled and it was blatant in the last few years of just how poorly they were doing and in the first merged results. The Q3 merged results SF legacy parks revenue was 558M. Adj Ebidta 206M, Net Income 3M(not a typo), attendance 9.2M. Cedar Fair legacy parks had 792M revenue, Adj Ebidta 352M, Net Income 108M, attendance 11.8M. SF legacy has more parks and more big markets/metros and continues to get trounced by Cedar Fair legacy parks.

Talking about trading Kingda Ka for yurts ? The Safari Resort "yurts" decision was Selim and it was stupid b/c as already stated he hasn't idea what he 's doing b/c he has no experience in the industry. Zimmerman has to try to make the best of that poor Safari tent resort thing which was foolish. Zimmerman's vision for the chain is clear and will be like it was at Cedar Fair. The larger parks that are capable of being destination/resort & hotel parks will be that. All the parks are about the Seasons of Fun model which they started in 2018 and really was just try to make all the other parks more like Knotts. That meant massive investment in food/restaurants, better theming overall and create new themed areas, have a lot of special events/festivals to get people to come back as many times as possible during a year.

Selim had a win for him, he got paid well to essentially go away. Selim has been sent out to pasture. Read the complete 300 page S-4 filing. Selim failed so badly that SF had to seek a merger as they were doing even worse than before, Under him they regressed to 2017 financial levels while SEAS and Cedar Fair were producing record financials in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Selim hadn't a clue what he was doing. He tried his premiumization plan, which was really just raise prices with very minor improvements b/c he hadn't an idea how to actually do it properly. They lost 7+M in attendance, 1/2 the pass/member base, etc.. They company was performing so poorly that in Dec 2023 they actually entertained a presentation from an activist investor to sell the land under all the parks. That's a recipe for disaster and eventual bankruptcy..ie...that what 's failing companies like Sears and Red Lobster did year ago and it only postponed their eventual Chapter 11 filing. The fact they even entertained the sell the land under all the parks proposal was a sign of desperation. SF had a lot of unhappy long term investors that has seen the stock go from $72 Aug 2018 to around $33 by Feb 2020, even before the pandemic. They never recovered nearly as much as other chains post pandemic. not helped by Selim's complete ignorance of the industry. Dec 2022 the stock was around $24. They sought the merger with Cedar Fair b/c SF were in a death spiral. The SF Board realized Selim was inept. They came to CF July 2023 with initial proposal and talks. CF was only interested in a potential merger if they were majority stake, so they had control. Also, it's no coincidence that 10 of the 11 executive team are Cedar Fair people, the people that actually run the parks. The only SF person is Chief Integration Officer a made up title that will go away in a few years. Cedar Fair management is trying to save the poorly run, run down, etc,,, SF legacy parks. The rash of removal of rides is standard Cedar Fair, as that's what they did at a bunch of their parks the last 5 years or so. They get rid of high maintenance cost and/or low or declining ridership attractions. The rash of Sf legacy parks getting ride repaints, and other deferred maintenance projects happening this fall and into the off season is also a CF management thing. The ideology of the company is Cedar Fair, everything that is happening and proposed is what Cedar Fair did when they implemented their Seasons of Fun plan. Selim has nothing to do with it, he tried and failed at the SF legacy park CEO. Zimmerman and Witherow are running the show.
