Growing up I have always wondered how "Mrs. Snow" (Agnes Moorehead) in Pollyanna was supposed to have quilted already made patchwork squares. I have googled it several times as an adult and it always came back with assembling squares together that were to be quilted later. And then today I tried again and found your video. After almost 6 decades I finally have my answer. Thank you so much. I have been wanting to do a totally handmade quilt without a frame, just joining already done squares ever since then and now I know what to do. Thank you again!

Can you do a Part 2 where you show how to join the rows now? I don't see how that's physically possible since the seams are now sewn shut at the ends if you machine finish the back.

Thank you for this video. I do refer to it regularly until i get the hang of it. Can you do a video or explain how to complete the binding process after you join the ends and fold the binding over to stitch ---how do I ensure that the stitching will end up in the exact same spot on the back. I always have trouble no matter how much I line up the binding on the edges when stitching, the back threads are on the bag, not the binding.

The last time I tried this, I watched a different video. I had to rip it out 6 times because I kept twisting the binding. Watching your video, I sewed it correctly the first time. THANK YOU for the clarity of your demonstration and instructions.

I never saw this before. So exciting that other can see our beautiful local quilt shop! Not only do you have what we need in fabric and supplies, but every employee is knowledgeable and so friendly and helpful. I was thrilled the first time I realized they knew me by name, even when I hadn't been in for a few months. Corn Wagon is the BEST!

I accidentally machine sewed my binding to the front of my quilt. It’s 96”x96”. I’m too afraid (read: lazy) to take it out and sew it on again so I’m going to try to make my stitches on the front as invisible as possible 😅😢 thank u for this tutorial!!! My grandma would literally teleport to my location and smack me if I didn’t hand stitch my binding.

I have not quilt anything in my life. I saw a lady make a bomber jacket using the quilt to go method. I had to understand what that was first. Thank you for explaining. Is this cotton fabric?

If you don’t have pool noodles, pipe insulation is often much cheaper and they can be joined together using a rolled up magazine or a dowel rod with a bit of newspaper or scraps of fabric wrapped round it.
