I live in NH, but have had many adventures in Lincoln County, NV. From doing the touristy stuff related to Rachel and Area 51, to viewing Area 51 itself from Tikaboo Peak, to car camping in crazily empty/remote places, to hunting down exotic plane crash sites, it's a place where you could spend weeks wandering around, having fun every day, and running into almost no other people unless you want to. The Sinclair station in Caliente where you got your peanut butter treats, is where I get a large hot chocolate, fill the gas tank, and head out to do some exploring, often going far off road in a Prius. I do make sure to have a little satellite communicator with me, especially seeing as my car has no spare tire. When hiking, a lot of the terrain looks easier than it is, and so much of it looks the same, that you really need to be on your A game for navigating, whether by GPS or otherwise. And on your A game for carrying enough to eat and drink for when you end up almost hiking in circles to avoid rougher terrain, when it seems there's an easy way to get where you're going, when there isn't.

Tempted to hit this hike today. Would love to know how the approach road was, I only have a rear wheel 2018 Tacoma. I’d assume it’s doable as a friend has done it in a lower clearance vehicle

I used to ride my Horse, Cyclone through there all the time. (The name was ironic, he was a big baby) I'm mixed too see it "discovered" but I'm glad to see respectful visitors.

Thanks for this! I’m working my fitness level (and my hubby’s) up to do this in OCT. Too hot to do in the summer. This video is one of the best, most concise, yet comprehensive guides to this trail. Gass Peak is my favorite mountain in Vegas - even have a tat of it, but I’ve never done the peak. Thank you for this great video!! ❤ Oh, the rocks are a HEART. 💜☺️

@4:47 WARNING: Ash Springs is infested with the brain-eating amoeba naeglaria fowleri! At least one death has been reported at this spring. This is why the area has not been maintained in years. This is why the old parking lot has been closed and allowed to overgrow. If water containing the amoeba gets into your nose, the single-cell organisms will find your olfactory nerves and use them to get into your brain. Once infected there is no cure! They will consume your brain until you die. 100% fatal. Here's what it looked like more than 20 years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKiTpGeJZcSmbJo

The reason all-trails suggests the right is because people kept complaining that the left trial "wasn't hikable" because people got scared at some areas. Out of towners not used to hiking huge mountains without trees to combat vertigo is my guess. The right trail is wider all the way up

thats not a mining cart its the gagers platform from before the dam was built. There was a guy that lived in a house where that flat part of land is at the beginning of the canyon. Thats my favorite place to kayak and fish.Ive done many videos there

Yes, the amount of boulder-hopping that those canyons require surprises you every time. Good that you started early. I had to come down in complete darkness about 3/4 of the way. Quite an experience. I was lucky that i had a very faint light in my head lamp left and there were so many strategically placed cairns. I only got seriously lost once. Thankfully I found my way that night. It was 10:30 pm when I got to my car 😆

Happy Monday to you. I’m new to your channel and loving that you incorporated breathing technique’s. I personally would appreciate longer videos on breathing where we can follow along as you guide us in the breath work. I recently was diagnosed with asthma but didn’t want to go on traditional meds and came across breathing exercises and it has been amazing!! I’m back on trail with no breathing issues at all and med free. Thank you for your video and have a great day!

That was an absolutely beautiful tribute to the victims and their families of the horrible tragedy....so sincere, warm, and heartfelt. May God comfort the grieving families and may the victims rest well. ❤🙏 Great job! This hike is so incredible! I love it!...did the South loop out and back for the first time on Aug 30, 2022. I think I'll do the North loop next and maybe the South loop down. 👍👊😎 Btw, here's Mike every time he showed the map: 💪. jking! 😂
