everything is cool, but saying the game is 20 years old is manipulative.
@CertifiedGing8 сағат бұрын
I totally understand your comment and I appreciate the valid criticism, I definitely could have worded this a better way. I meant this as valve has been working on the franchise for 20 years. Meaning they have a long time of experience. To then have bugs in the game like this, it makes it seem like they really don't know what to do after all these years. This is also the reason I started pointing out they are a billionaire company and they shouldn't release games that are less stable then indie games. An other example of this would be overwatch, Overwatch 2 is about 2 years old. Doesn't mean they don't have 6 years of previous experience with Overwatch. I wouldn't criticize Overwatch 2 just based on it's lifetime, I think it's way more fair to look at the overall lifetime of the company (the games combined) If ubisoft released a broken and unstable game, you give them criticism because they are ubisoft and they have been working on games for years. You don't say but well the game is only a few days old. If you work in a garage for 20 years and decide to start working in another garage, that doesn't mean you should act like you have no clue what you are doing. You still have 20 years of experience prior to this. So again, I get that CS2 isn't 20 years old but the franchise is. Then we aren't even talking about the experience they got from other games.
@jonaswox5 сағат бұрын
@@CertifiedGing Franchise is really not meaningful in this context. We are talking about software and game engines. So what I mean is that CS has been through many codebases and engine foundations. In most practical instances, these codebases will have almost zero in common. It is a completely new game, and the fact that we are playing ct vs t, with the same weapons does not really translate to anything meaningful from a software perspective. Of course it will to some degree, but that degree is alot smaller than most people think, all the real bells and whistles, technicals, are completely overhauled. So almost anything remotely advanced interaction in the engine is not gonna look anything like the other games. Often both in terms of how you control it, and how it presents itself to the developer trying to solve a problem. Also I think that your criticism is definitely justified to some degree, valve does have alot of money , and they should be able to do things better and quicker, no doubt. But I also think that you are to some extend comparing apples and oranges, bcus technical glitches are outright impossible to predict in this scale, and also the technical knowhow and overview to look at the problem in the game, and fix it in code, without breaking something else that used to work, is so much harder than you think. You have to be extremely skilled programmer, and have en overview and technical brain on a very high level, to truly understand all in engine dynamics , and making sure your fix does not break some other dynamic. This is true for all advanced game engines, its complicated stuff and most normal people would be completely clueless put in front of this task. Both in terms of experience (of course) but also in the depth of commitment needed to solve the puzzle. To me, how I think about it in systems with a lot of not independent variables, is that it is usually so difficult to predict the outcome of some parameter change, that no human gets even close to just running the software, and see what happens. Often people will have an idea or alike, but also very often it is so complex that nobody is able to imagine all these knobs turning on each other at the same time. It is like, take a random chess setup, and ask people "is this a good move?" - First of all , there is no clear answer since the answer depends on your playstyle further down the line. Also the amount of moves to calculate even 3 / 4 / 5 moves ahead begins to be so massive, that obviously no human can truly comprehend it. In these situations you often see a dynamic where, someone will "unlock some knowledge", use it to their advantage, and slowly people will copy and slowly it becomes the norm. Now everybody defaults to thinking "this is the best move u can do in for example cs". But we tend to forget that not only is your move success dependant a lot on your opponents, and you have no clue how people are gonna play 3 months from now. Also , out of the blue , some other guy will come around and figure, wow the aug is ripping people apart, and suddenly everybody uses AUG , and not knowing about it is "stupid" - meanwhile this truth was before the players eyes for a long time before anybody realised. So what im trying to convey here is, that even when we feel like we have some good handle or tactic for a complex system, we tend to still be "wrong", meaning it is not a universal truth, but rather one that fits this current playstyle of the scene. Things can change in a heartbeat, and secondly the true "optimal" strategy for example (assuming one exists) , no matter how close we feel we are to this , we are always far away. Look at for example the dota ai bot as an example. The amount it is able to optimise some aspects of the dota game are straight up inhuman. Something we are never able to do to the same degree of precision and finesse. The best pros in the world cant handle a lane with the AI player, they get completely wrecked. Of course this dota example is not watertight either, but it illustrates the vast complexity and tools available to the player, that humans have never explored or are sometimes even capable of doing in real time. In such complex systems there is always massive room for improvement. Always. Just like chess is a good example when trying to grasp complexity. So what did I actually mean with apples and oranges? I meant that technical bugs are impossible to get rid of. If you have any experience in any kinds of software you will know, that it is never bugfree. Even a simple calculator software, its not free from errors. This is not to be compared with issues that are more obviously predictable or caught through simple tests. It is a very important distinction, and one should look at it in the sense that no software is perfect, but the closer you can get to 100% the better, so always trial -> fix -> trial -> fix, in modern software this is a truly infinite loop of engineering (assuming you are aspiring for 100%). So when is a bug a sign of incompetence ? If the rate of the bug appearing is high, it should have been caught in QA. At the same time, with big games, seriously people do the craziest stuff sometimes, and its just impossible for a programmer to predict every possible scenario in open game worlds. So bugs that are dependant on very specific parameters , or inherently are just very rare, are completely fair to miss before a launch. The rest is not. I am not trying to dismiss most of your points actually, and I do agree that valve is lazy. Have always been, and the true enthusiasts have been fuming since we was forced upon steam to play cs 20 years ago :) I also agree on your garage analogy, but only to some extent because this is not remotely comparable to an engine in another car build on the EXACT same principles, maybe with minor differences in implementation, but you will have already met most of these varieties after 20 years iin the field. It is not really comparable to making a new simulation engine, because the basic functionality of how the engine works (in the gameworld) is fundamentally different to a prior engine. While a car mechanic will have a lot more thorough understanding from the beginning, when faced with an unknown engine. If game engines was just plain and raw physics simulations, I would agree alot more on this point. But modern games exactly refrain from brute force physics, because the formulas gets massive , and the computation unfeasible. So a modern game engine is a masterpiece of mr dungeon tech guy, finding solutions to the question often presented in this world: "How can I simulate this physical property, without the complexity of the physics formula, but still to a high degree of precision". Nothing is truly textbook in this world. One impressive example of this is water physics in cs2, it runs on almost no ressources and looks relatively VERY amazing. (relative meaning compared to compute cost) . In some aspects valve tend to be wizards. Valve are lazy, yes. They are also a very special company in how it functions, and this is one of the downsides. There is not some big team working nonstop on cs2, like there wouldve been in other companies. The benefit from this structure on the other hand is that people will actually be motivated to solve the problem at hand when needing to. And all research in software development points to that the more people you have the vastly less efficient you get per person. So the value of just having a 30 guy team on the task 24/7 is less than one would think. It is horrible scaling with developers on a software project. An example of the dungeon wizardry would also be raytracing. The formulas are "easy" to grasp, but the actual computations involved is extreme and inherently infinite. So why did it come out of nowhere? Because some wizard in a dungeon figured a formula to simplify the calculations and still get very close the "real" results, obtained if one did the full on physics math. Sometimes by being close to the real only means that our perception is almost the same. Many many software tricks abuse our perception at large.

They onetap you every time or react faster than a Professional player with only having 5k to 7K on their ranking. Its a joke. This leads to casual players like me beeing slaughtered like a chicken because you cant do anything. It does not matter what you do, youre dead as soon as you aim and shoot these little suckers. You can really feel the sense of dread when u play against these types. Its like beeing a beginner because you cant cope with this bullshit. The best is: You die in an instant and then they begin to fire. This subtick shit is abysmal and is exploited by these hackers like no morning come, too. You look into the demo: All is normal. But if youre in game, its obvious. You collpase when they didnt even start to fire bullets at you.

@CertifiedGing20 күн бұрын
You know it's going to sound crazy but there really is still people defending this game. I think valve actually pulled a master class "manipulation". They really played people this hard, to the point that they are this delusional and accept this state of the game. The way valve has players in their pocket is a generational play, that should indeed be studied for years. Or valve could go give a lecture "how to scam billions and get away with it" haha. People constantly complaining about gambling sites but put there hands in front of their eyes when they look at the cases/armory/etc. in CS2, which let's be fair is basically just a normalized way of gambling.

@riling21 күн бұрын
@@CertifiedGing actually it don't make any sense. Seem you are having more fun than any commentator watching pros play. CS2 cheats cost 5usd a month and none is getting banned. It's kinda close to cheapest fun you can get.
@CertifiedGing21 күн бұрын
Sorry for not making sense, I don't really know how to explain it otherwise. I'm just saying I know what CS is like, I have been in the scene for pretty long. I seem and act surprised not cuz I don't have an idea or don't understand. It's more meant in a questioning way like ''damn this is really what CSGO has turned into". I mean you have the find a way to have fun I guess, the state of the game isn't really at it's best. I tried complaining, crying and now I'm at the stage where I just have given up and I'd rather just laugh at how bad it is. I definitely agree, a lot of people just buy cheats ''cuz it's cheap fun" and again at the current state of the game it seems like that is what would give you the most fun. I get most fun out of just having a laugh with my community and making content so that's mainly where my focus is, I rarely or basically never solo queue CS anymore... Also I like making video's like this just to constantly keep showing how bad it is, compared to a lot of other KZbinrs (not calling out anyone) who basically just make case/skin content and give a totally wrong representation of what the game is actually like. I think this content is more relatable for people who actually play the game and don't have millions to play skin farming simulator. Plus, I'm a big counter strike fan, this game has been all I played growing up so I'll never shut up about the bad state until it gets fixed (which doesn't seem for the near future)

I'd say welcome back, but don't think CS2's state is extremely welcoming to OG players. The tribunal or overwatch hasn't been in the game since CS2 got released, which is about a year ago. Honestly overwatch cases used to be very fun but well here at valve we like taking everything that has the slightest amount of enjoyment away from players. I'm not sure about this so don't quote me, but I do think valve has talked about re-adding overwatch and a few people have said they have exclusive access but it's the internet so they could be lying haha.

3:10 from the very first shot I can already tell he's cheating :D (cheater spots another cheater) Aimbot, wallhack AND backtrack. Look at how the enemy was much closer to the door to the right, yet he killed him in that little door/window to the left behind the barrels. That's called backtrack. It manipulates your ticks to be able to hit your hitbox, which was there up to 1000ms ago.

@CertifiedGing22 күн бұрын
I'm definitely with you on this one, I don't really care that much for cosmetics. I have a basic set of skins and that's it. I do care about the fact that there are no missions. Grinding the missions was always immensely fun. Imagine Fortnite adds a battle pass without missions "just play" + the current state the game is in "just play" isn't enough... That's mostly why the pass is so upsetting cuz it just adds, zero new content. They went through all this time to add the armory, could have at least added missions to it. They even said the armory is here to stay forever and it will just rotate what's in it (another way of grabbing money) and literally nobody cares. While if they had announced an annual Operation basically, people would have gone crazy. It's just a straight money grab and it's sad cuz they could have spend all this time on fixing the game or adding new content, like new maps. I was going to say I feel like the game is pretty balanced right now but the running accuracy is so bad, to the point even pros complain about it. Then again, everyone can do it so I guess it's still balanced? 😂
