Thank you for the lovely comment. We use a 12.9” iPad Pro in the van. We download a few films before we go away, so it gives us a bit of choice of what to watch when we’re in the back. It suits our needs perfectly, and we can also check our video footage on it as well.

Great van tour guys, lots of useful practical ideas, great to see you starting to add affiliate links/discounts but I think your still missing out by not adding Amazon affiliate links, it doesn't give the viewer a discount but it does give you a 10% commission on anything they buy after clicking your link at no extra cost to them, and makes it easier for them to find the exact product your using. Just my two cents as the yanks say 😉Anyway thumbs up from me, keep up the content and happy adventures 🤗

Thank you for the comment , and thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed explanation. I’ve not heard of that before from Amazon, so thank you…I’m going to look into it. 👍👍
@NeoandhisSon3 күн бұрын
@@awaywiththehills Just google ' How to create an Amazon affiliate link' then create a list of links for every product/tool you have used on your conversion and add that list to the description of every video you've done so far... I could be wrong but so far as I know it pays commission on anything they buy after clicking that link even if it's a different product... Every little helps as they say 😉

wow that is a very clean and hi tech build, seems like a very comfortable place to roam around in
@awaywiththehills9 күн бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. That was exactly what I was trying to achieve. I didn’t want wires hanging everywhere (hence the wireless chargers), I wanted a clean modern look to the inside, whilst still keeping the van looking like a van from the outside.

Audio and Video are both professional quality, clarity and colour saturation on the camera look great. Found your channel due to planning on buying and converting a Transit Connect myself. You've done a great job on the conversion, been through most of your vids and liked and subscribed to get you closer to that magic 1k subs. Could I be so bold as to make a suggestion for an upcoming video? Could you do a camper van tour video detailing all the gear you have used and what the total cost of the conversion was etc, You could also add affiliate links in the description and make a few quid from the referrals to Amazon etc, the more items you can link to, the more wonga you could make, I'd be interested to know what infotainment system you used, where you got the roof vent from and where you got that side awning from, the latter two both add to the stealth mode, it could pass for a plumbers van 😉 You also did a great job of detailing the van, not seen the heat gun on the bumpers trick before, again you could add affiliate links to the cleaners polishes and tools you used, every little helps and when you get more subs they will be sending you free gear to sponsor I'm sure... 🤗 in the meantime keep up the great work.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a positive and detailed comment. A walkaround video is a great idea to explain things in more detail, and I had planned on doing one on Saturday just gone, however the leisure battery in Mini Hillton had given up (it was used when I installed it last year), so I upgraded to an AGM battery with slightly higher capacity, and I fitted that along with a couple of other jobs that needed doing. So unfortunately I ran out of time. I do plan on getting this filmed in the next couple of weeks though once I can fit it in around other commitments. Hopefully you can find a nice van to convert, just make sure that it's the long wheelbase/high top version like mine, because when I was looking, this was the only way that I could sit up and lay down in it comfortably with it being such a relatively small van. The stealth style has a lot going for it, and we have parked up in many urban locations that I wouldn't like to be cheeky enough to sleep in an obvious camper.
@NeoandhisSon9 күн бұрын
@@awaywiththehills Yeah it is the L2H2 versions I have been looking at specifically, there was one on gumtree already converted for only 1500 quid but they had in my opinion ruined the stealth aspect by adding a square caravan style skylight/vent, and if buying a pre converted one there is no way of telling how well the insulation has been done. I would go for the newer version connect as I much prefer the styling but they don't seem to do a high roof version, I have noticed that a lot of van lifers who start out with a micro van conversion seem to upgrade to a larger van after about a year so I might just invest more and go for a mid size van such as a transit custom or such like, still small enough to be stealthy but slightly more roomy for playing a large guitar inside when raining outside, my ultimate goal would be to do a coastal tour of UK so would need more food storage space when doing the more remote areas such as Scotland. I'm in no rush and can afford to take my time deciding which base van is the best for my needs.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, we really appreciate it. I was trying to keep a modern minimalist look to it. I saw the Recarco fabric and loved it, I knew it would tie it all together nicely with the greys 👍 It would have given us more room as well if I removed the bulkhead, but I decided to keep it in the end for a couple of reasons. Insulation. And stealth 👍 I insulated the whole inside of it and it’s so warm inside, if I’d have removed the bulkhead a lot of heat would go straight out of the glass and the windows would steam up. And I can have the lights on really bright and not be seen at all…perfect for stealthing 👍
@heatherjohnson45355 ай бұрын
Fabulous job 👏 Well done 😊 not sure I could do with all the grey & anthracite . Alot of artificial insulation added - think I would look at more natural materials such as Cork etc...

@awaywiththehills5 ай бұрын
Thank you. During that video they were 235/40 R18 as that's what was on the wheels when I bought them. I've since needed replacement tyres, and I went with the size that originally came on the Focus ST's. These are 225/40 R18 and they were about £15 cheaper each tyre on the Bridgestone one's that I put on.

42:06 looks great. did you store your battery and electrics in the bulkhead?
@awaywiththehills5 ай бұрын
Hi Kirsty, thank you for taking the time to comment. No, they were just some lighting wires before I finished them off, and also a hair dryer and straighteners that I store in there. I have the battery and electrics next to the fridge in the rear. I'm going to do a walk around video soon , so I'll try to remember to cover it in that.

Hi, these were only rust stains as the previous owner hadn't put any bolts into the roof mounting points after they had a roof rack on it. So there was no need to treat once I put bolts back into the holes to seal from the rain.
