Nailed it main reason is to try it (can be tried for free) have fun and enjoy it, if you don't like no problem just uninstall and find something else you may enjoy. However if you do enjoy it eventually your bank manager won't like it :)

I Disagree with the high-end PC requirements. I have a RTX 2060, i7 9700K and I run DCS just fine, no 4K, no VR, 1080p. I get 30+fps and most of my settings are medium to high.

So like golf, perfection in DCS is an unattainable goal to paraphrase Nicklaus. Like golf DCS is a hobby. I believe the average DCS enthusiast age is in the 60's. I am 68. My gear is years old, 32ghz DDR 3 memory and an i7, at 3.6ghz, ASUS GForce RTX 3060. Once I learned DCS is years old itself and runs great at anything above 40FPS, I dialed back the juice, cranked the settings and set FPS to 80. Couldn't be happier-and my room isn't as warm as it used to be. Granted the entry costs for full sim gear, Track IR (for me), HOTAS, pedals, etc. can run a couple G and up. But those costs are one-time. You're right-one can use DCS for free, use a game pad, Track IR and a laptop and go. So a hobby is something you get good at, but never expert. I play SP only. It's for tinkering. I'd say the F18 is the easier plane to fly or the Su25 to start pay or no pay. Everyday somebody has a new way to do something or produces a mod. So the DCS universe is expanding. Are there Modules/Terrains I might not buy again or don't use-for sure. I do have the bug though and an advantage as a former military and commercial aviator. But the bug bites anyone and anyone can do this. There's you and countless other people who dare to publish content which is excellent in quantity and quality. So a good video on the subject and my two cents on getting into DCS at a moderate price w/o making the wife too mad. If you have young kids-no golf and no DCS = happy marriage IMHO. Fasinating it all started in ww2 obviously they were on it even back then.

One of the largest “dumping” of chaff was by the Soviets/East Germans way back in the 60’s or maybe early 70’s. Apparently they were moving something and didn’t wants us watching with our side look radars on the EC birds. So they launched a bunch of IL 76’s, I guess, and dumped chaff for hours and days to mask whatever it was they were doing. They laid a virtual radar cloud of impenetrable chaff like snow.

well the second a10 was placed with no linkage to the first plane and no waypoint = it will go north. the hornet is somehow linked to the first one maybe?! i'm not sure, i can tell. when you open the editor with the hornet there is some sort of linkage to the first place, but you didn't record the action of linking the 2 planes.

i have 54 dlc´s and now i bough a new pc just for DCS but somehow all the licenses are somehow invalid..im going nuts here, i have spent more than 1000euros with ED and now i just cant play i need to contact support i guess, i use it trough steam, shouldn't they know i have the modules? in steam is clear they are all there, how in the world is this even possible, i have 886 games on steam and it is the first time i see a error like this sating i dont have permission because i dont own these DLC´s .... what a joke, with my ED user name and password shouldn't be more than enough for the servers to see im a user with all these modules and maps and campaigns»?

The Trackir program sucks so much. I want to have a large dead zone so my head isn't wiggling around(I don't sit still when playing). I also want the curve to equal 180(90 for pitch) around 90% max comfortable head turn. That's 2 nodes I can't use to flesh out the strength of the curve, and 3 isn't enough to make the curve smooth enough. Also since the y value for the last node doesn't level out but keeps going in a straight line if I want the curve to get slower as I reach my max head turn, the line will then travel into the Negative, reversing the direction my head turns in game. It isn't that as big of a problem for yaw, but its a massive problem for pitch were my degrees of motion downwards is only about 15. So that only leaves me with 2 nodes for adjusting the curve. It also sucks that I cant just tab through the nodes so I have to be very carful when selecting them as to be sure to not move them, since I have done all the math already for what x should be on all the nodes.

Taking gun pods on a Bf109 flying an escort mission is a risky thing to do. You can likely get away with it against early war Russian fighters, but once you have to face mid-war Yaks and La-5s you will have given up too much maneuverability. Gun pods are for when you expect to be dealing with bombers

Nice demo. That is a cool mod. Devs keep up on their discord. Some great attention to detail. I know they’re working on the turn/spin rate of the falling leaf to be closer to RL, but that’s taking some serious coding as I understand. CMD T did some demo flights as well. Please note, the thrust vectoring animations don't seem to work in the replays. That's why you're not seeing the nozzles vectoring but the plane is maneuvering as it should (more or less).

as a new customer I have to say I appreciate this been made public, there are no clues given on store fronts and as someone who was looking to take advantage of the sales in anticipation of putting together a bit of a sim rig I could easily spent a few hundred and walked into a minefield. thankfully been an outsider doing a little research it was easy enough to catch wind of the situation and make informed choices, now what if that wasn't the case how would I feel about ED then ?

All I know is that I have Harrier and Mig19, both modules could die. Whoever is at fault here, I don't care. I am retired, I cannot afford new modules now, if this game is so badly mismanaged, then I shall never spend another penny on it, even if I have money. And as for yet another patch delay this week....what a surprise. ED is crap, a shame, as I don't see ED/ DCS surviving such a loss of confidence by its customers.

I have been working on my son in law family tree for my grandsons and learned his 5th great grandfather was Tobias Fernald who died on the USS Constitution in the last battle of the War of 1812.. the last one you talked about. The reason is razbam hasn't been paid for almost 9 months it heatblur all over again isn't the first time ED has done this. Try working your but off mind you coding is very difficult. ED pay razbam fix the eagle

the radar is stuck on standby, you can see the azimuth indicator centered and not sweeping

If the date fix is tru AND RB broke the aircraft on purpose and that can be proven RB could be sued easily for such an unprofessional and disgusting step.(if it is true ofcourse)
