Thanks so much for this video. It helped me get my mind wrapped on how to make a quilt pattern cut out of acrylic via a laser cutter.

That's awesome! So glad it helped! Are these acrylic templates for FPP patterns?

@@allyryde not templates. My wife's mom and sisters' quilt and I had made 3d printed quilt 'blocks' as either sun catchers or drink coasters and I wanted to create the same using a laser cutter/engraver I could not wrap my brain on how to get each part of the block to cut out. I had svgs for the 3d printer but it didn't translate to cutting out the bits for acrylic or wood. I couldn't put a picture in the comment or I would show you.

Hello! Yes, I do. I'm actually running a free workshop right now, you can register at www.allyryde.com/workshop-sm I'll be opening registration for my comprehensive quilt pattern design course Quilt Design Code in just a few days time. If you're registered you'll be the first to know when I do. I teach Adobe Illustrator and Indesign specifically for quilt pattern design and writing. Hope this helps - drop me a note if you have some more questions.

Hi Ally. For your audience, I am a member of your Creative Business Builder cohort. When I saw the email today, I remembered that I had given you feedback that I'm interested in knowing what a weekly schedule for creatives looks like. Thanks for your insights on this for your business. I love that your schedule has both rhythm and purpose. It is not only planned but designed and I would expect no less from a designer. I also appreciate understanding the difference between the ideal and the actual. Somewhere in between there is the practical. To see a plan in action helps me feel confident that I too can plan and build a schedule that works for me. I look forward to using your planner. Your business tools are always spot on in meeting my needs. Cheers!

I have to agree: I'm learning it to digitize vintage sewing patterns, and it does seem like the right tool. I took an online course for this application, but it's still a very steep learning curve. I hope to have the basics mastered this year, though! :D

love the tag line, its a reminder to take a break from the everyday, and do something FUN!! As to the question that most resonated with me: Is this deliberate? To me this question can be asked throughout the design process, and speak to helping narrow a design aesthetic.
