When I first started talking tp Sellam, I literally had no idea he was so pivitol in the vintage computer hobby. I just know him as the absolutely solid, funny and kind friend from the Apple II Facebook group but I now know my friend is a living legend! Great talk.

I swear I am swatting at an actual fly that was determined to interrupt my talk. Thank you to VCF SoCal for a fantastic event. I apologize if parts of my narrative seem confusing or are missing details but I was trying to fit at least three hours of blabber into one, and still recovering from an ER visit and antibiotics administered a couple days prior after I squared off with a feral cat on the farm (I won BTW).

I've been adjacent to the FujiNet project for 4 years now, and an Atari 8-bit user for over 40 years, but the fact that the FujiNet can just go "here's a new device called N:", and the Atari OS just goes "sure, whatever buddy", and suddenly you're OPEN #1,4...ing a file from 1000 miles away *still* blows my mind. 😂

Great talk, was glad to say I was there. It can't be forgotten that it took a company the size of IBM to give the world core-memory and SLT logic. The development of OS/360 run over budget and behind schedule and cost something like $5B in the 1960s!

These panels are a great show highlight where multiple perspectives are available and introducing new names. Shows too that the best of the VCF isn't confined to the first day.

Thanks! We are so glad you enjoyed it, and hope we'll see you again at the next one. (Psst-Shhhhh... Think: Presidents' Day Weekend again, in the same venue. We just can't officially, Officially announce it yet. So, don't post it on the Interwebs.)

11:40 The "E:" editor device "didn't do anything important", Joe says! 😂 I know, I know, he's really talking about the 400 & 800 built-in Memo Pad. Still though, the Atari's editor was joy to work with, compared to the Timex Sinclair 1000 (ZX81), Commodore 64, and Apple II that I had also poked around on at the time.

As an 'early adopter' of the Backbit its great to see its capability come to so many of the retro platforms.

Great to see these get to the web, even as well attended for its first show (VCF SoCal) not everyone could travel to hear this pioneering work on Fujinet.
