Now here is a sensei who knew jujutsu through and through. I really admire not only his attention to detail but also his insistence on caring for one's partner when practicing dangerous techniques. It only takes one serious injury in this art to put an end to it all. I am sure half the injuries I sustained in my martial arts journey could have been prevented with the right instruction. You cannot respect enough a man like the late Billy Doak.

Nowadays, the cancer culture new age weenies would want Professor Doak cancelled for 6:33. 😂

Amazing techniques… and right off the bat, completely irresponsible use of unnecessary force in slamming your student. There is an ego trip here that way too many instructors fall victim to, because they want to impress the students.

For practical applications seems like learning contact karate or Muy-Thai, wrestling and BJJ separately makes sense to have real kumite/wrestling/rolling and JJJ is good for drilling combos to have a fusion of striking, wrestling, and grappling later. Just my thoughts from doing karate katas without bunkai, rolling without leg locks😅😅😅
@Pifagorass7 ай бұрын
Nice fusion of striking and grappling. Do you have any kumite?

As a long time bjj'er I really like Billy's grappling techniques. Very direct and to the point with good transitions from move to move. Sometimes bjj can get so overly detailed that you cant remember moves. These seem very easy to remember
@lambosnicko10 ай бұрын
Thats why you practice. You don’t learn all the details the first time you learn a technique. Get a base for the move, then you work on the details over time. Also im yet to see half of these “brutal techniques” put into practice with resistance or against a bigger stronger aggressor.

fantastic movement and principles. This guy was crisp. The style is weak on the hands/blocking/parrying but seems to put the rest together quite nicely. What year was this?

This is real martial science guys, no katas much less giving in. This art allows follow up attacks which is what happens in the streets.

When I was 14 at some new trouble maker school back in the late 80s and early 90s, I was confused why there were different names to fighting and there was this gym teacher who taught us weight training, wrestling, and karate and he was a black belt in Judo and Jujitsu and I asked him what's the difference and he told me Jujitsu is Karate and Judo together. What do you people think?

What an excellent video tutorial with a superb Sensei, it is tragical he died so young, the world of Ju Jitsu has suffered a great loss. And this needs to be re-uploaded in better quality, it deserves better. RIP Mr. Doak.

Saludos cordiales.
