Thanks, man. These videos have really been helping me out now that I am applying for the NCM. It's nice how down-to-earth you are. I see some people have a 1.5 million dollar business when applying to uni and its relieving knowing that places like Stanford don't need something like that. I did quite a few extracurriculars, but they haven't really been ongoing for that long since I ended up transferring schools my sophomore year so it was hard to get a lot of multi-year ECs. I listed these 5: Robotics Club president, National Honor Society Vice-president, Columbia University Science Honors Program, HK Maker Lab at Columbia University, and CUNY STEM Research Academy. One of these was only for the summer, the HK Maker Lab. The CUNY STEM Research Academy was also only for 1 year. I'm hoping colleges don't tax me for not having them be ongoing or for that long. Let me know if you also have any tips for the rankings. I'm not sure how I should go about ranking because I am very low-income so the match scholarship is really tantalizing. I'm tempted to just list a lot of colleges, although I know its not what I should do. I have very competitive stats, but I know that you also need some luck when applying.

Can you send the same essay to multiple colleges?
@HmhUhu27 күн бұрын
Your personal essay is automatically for all colleges, and supplemental essays are different set of questions provided by the colleges.
@incognito926227 күн бұрын
@@HmhUhu thanks for replying! If I may ask: If you get denied early action as a finalist through quest bridge, can you still apply for regular decision for the same colleges you ranked? MIT’s website says that you can only apply once per year, either early or regular, and I’m not sure if this applies to questbridge’s system that allows you access to both early and regular.
@HmhUhu24 күн бұрын
@@incognito9262 yes you can still apply regular for all, MIT is the only non-binding school, and if you do not get matched, it does not mean you were rejected so that means you can still apply to MIT in regular decision because that will be taken as your first time applying as well. Sorry for the late reply, school stuff. Good Luck🍀

My year there were 3 essays (2 required and 1 optional) and there were word count caps on each of them. Currently, they don't disclose how many essays they require. You'll have to wait until the application is out to find out.

You don't pick your major until somepoint during your college career so QuestBridge has no say in that.

Thank you for the helpful video! I'm pretty new to the college process, and I'm not sure if the CommonApp is required for applying in the Match process. If I am not ranked as a Matched Finalist and thus apply through Questbridge Regular Decision, is there enough time after the "unmatched" notification for me to fill out everything on the CommonApp? I'm worried about matters such as adding my recommendations to the CommonApp (if that's even required). Additionally, am I supposed to put all of my info on the CommonApp the same as it is on my QuestBridge app (personal statememnt, activity descriptions, etc)? Thank you!!

Alex, if you apply for a QuestBridge National Match to a particular school and don't get selected during the Match process, are you able to apply to that same school during the QuestBridge's Regular Decision process? If you are able to apply to a non-matched school in the QBRD period, does not getting selected by during the Match process indicate that you will probably get rejected during the Regular Decision Process. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
@AlexAlvaradoB Жыл бұрын
1. It depends on the school and its response to your application. If you are outright rejected then of course you cannot apply again. Otherwise, a school can defer your application (automatically pushing your application to be considered in the regular decision pool). 2. That is difficult to answer. If the school did not reject you outright then it means you are a competitive applicant that they think still has a shot in the regular decision pool. That being said there is no way great way of gauging your chances.

Assuming you are currently a junior or younger, you should be able to apply to the match. The only issue is that most schools will not consider international students for the match. But many more do for the regular decision window through QuestBridge. I recommend taking a look at the rules for the schools you are interested in. Everything should be available on QB's site!
