It cannot be overstated how much this song has meant to women who have survived domestic abuse. This is an anthem for a certain segment of our population. A far too large segment of our population. Not all women get to triumph over their abusers. So flowers for Chinchilla, but *gardens* for all the women who sing this song at full volume, with tears streaming down their faces who know the pain. And the victory. ❤️

❤Humble and Ocean

Ren and Eden performed this luce at the Secret Garden Party a couple weeks ago. It was wonderful. Was great to sing back the lyrics for him. He and Eden prodyced this in his bedroom studio when he was still quite sick.

Yes, Eden’s got a very soothing voice. As the others have said, “Ocean” with Ren and Eden is definitely worth checking out.

Another great reaction. You'll need to do the other one he does with Eden Nash- Ocean. It's just as good. You should also do Ren's Love Music 1 thru 4. It's a series of fun songs about how much he loves music and shouldn't be missed. To be honest though, you've barely scratched the surface of his music. If you're interested in hearing him do rock, check out Fire. It's fire. Also his original music with his band The Big Push is phenomenal. They have quite a bit of material. Peace and love.

The person in the trunk shows up later in (technically earlier) in the video for Animal Flow. Also, chloroform is actually very slow acting. Much slower than is even portrayed here (like ~5 minutes). Hollywood has created the myth of it being instant acting.

Ren being Ren. Love the sound and the beat of thus. The acoustic version is a minute longer and a whole different vibe. I lije all flavors of Rwn. The victim here ends up tied up to a rack in Animal Flow.

As you mentioned, Ren's referential knowledge is anachronistic for his age. Perhaps a deep love of music, movies, and great art brings people to the same cultural touchstones, regardless of generation. Murderer fits more traditionally into a 'fun playlist for the car' - he remains consistently unpredictable, and this song is surprising in how effortlessly Ren can create traditional and more mainstream tracks, making it all seem easy.

I've been reflecting on this recently: Ren and Rap are a natural pairing. His writing is remarkably dense, and without Rap, his songs would either be significantly longer or so truncated that they wouldn't retain the essence of Ren. "Hi Ren" has a similar runtime to Guns N' Roses' "November Rain," yet "Hi Ren" contains approximately 1,300 words compared to "November Rain's" 430, which includes repeated sections. The rapid delivery and spoken word elements are vital to sustaining Ren's lyrical intensity. I believe his work can hold its own alongside many of the literary and poetic greats, whose seminal works also exhibit this kind of lyrical density within structured narratives - for instance, Poe's "The Raven" contains around 1,100 words. This raises the question: "Is the relationship between his lyrical density and use of Rap inherently self-referential and self-creating?" -As always, thanks for the reaction and sharing your thoughts and insights.

This was the song that really got me hooked on Ren. Like Hi Ren and Jenny and Screech were so intriguing, but this one let me know he could do basically anything.

A good bit of fun, he likes to have fun sometimes.
