Stunning! A stupendous recording - both in execution and acoustics - of a fabulous piece by one of the truly great composers.

I love this arrangement of this spiritual. We performed this arrangement with Bishop State Community Choir in Mobile, Al several years ago. The voice layering near the end is so lovely!

This is, undoubtedly, my favorite version of Silent Night. Simply gorgeous! It reminds me of boats gently rocking to and fro in a calm harbour. The harmonies are sublime.

Hodie Christus natus est hodie Salvator apparuit: hodie in terra canunt Angeli, laetantur Archangeli: hodie exsultant justi, dicentes: Gloria in excelsis Deo, alleluja. Halleluja. Today is Christ born; today the Savior has appeared; today the Angels sing, the Archangels rejoice; today the righteous rejoice, saying: Glory to God in the highest. Alleluia!

I just discovered this, and I an flooded with simultaneous conflicting emotions: I am floored at the beauty of the performance, and I'm sorry that it took me a year to find it. It at once announces and engages, calls out and draws in, it's exciting and deeply reassuring. Thank you.

I wish I could like this. I honestly wish I could. The basses, altos, tenors, even the duet is wonderful. But the sopranos.......vowel formation caused half the notes to sound sharp or under-pitch. Very ugly to listen to sometimes.

DELIGHTFUL! I've been collecting- and enjoying atypical winter holiday music for decades, and had never heard this energetic, syncopated work prior to watching it on a rebroadcast of a Chapman College Wassail Concert...I then went searching for performances of it.
